Professional prop builders amongst us?

How many pros do we have on board? I know we have some members that have done some "heavy hitter" type props (like RickProps who did all the weaponry from Men In Black)...

Who else...?

What's a "porb", Rob? ;)

I guess I would be one... (a pro, not a "porb")

Rick and Tim are definitely heavy hitters! I think there was also a guy here from ILM but don't remember his name. Didn't RAC do some Star Trek stuff?

I worked in the industrial model industry for around 20 years in one capacity or another. And now build the licensed B9.

Does that count?

Mic, don't you build the B9's for a living now. If so, then yes, you certainly fall in the catagory. :thumbsup

Ive built a few over the years although my main work is in miniatures. Worked on the the Trek 6 engineering helmets and phasers for Greg Jein and made Catwomans claws for Michelle Pfeiffer.

I was sole modelmaker for all of the prototype models for the entire collector DVD boxes for the Star Trek dvd sets, DS9, Voyager, The Original Series etc. Shrek2 as well. That was quite fun. I also pitched a design for a boxed set for Indiana Jones DVD too, but budget meant they didnt go for it.
No movie stuff though.;-(

But I changed it when I got so little.

Rich

True that. I have the complete Coyle TOS landing party kit. (In fact I was waving the phaser around this week wishing I could zap the damn cat.)

Since then, well, my holy grail was filled. But I just got back from Rodd.com and..... (...resists whipping out the Amex... again.... grabs the Scotch....)

It is hard to beat Coyle items.

Speaking of which, have you retired completely from movie work?
