Prof. Umbridge wand from Harry Potter

Here's my attempt to make a Prof. Umbridge wand:

It's based on this image from Pottermore and info from the HP wiki site:

It's actually made of birch and is 8 inches (20.3 cm) long, turned in 2 parts on a lathe. The 13mm purple sphere is real amethyst.

I thought it odd that Noble USA and Universal doesn't sell this wand (It is available from Nobel.uk). I recently was told that they figure Umbridge is so disliked (OK - she's evil ), that no one would buy her wand - so they don't carry it.

I have additional drawings and pictures if anyone wants to make one themselves.

I am about to undertake the making of most of nobles catalogue from wood, and that really helps as not many high quality images of the movie prop or even the replica are about (due to the reasons stated above). The sphere is actually a bead (ETSY) with a hole through it. I epoxied a short piece of piano wire through the hole then added some aluminum tube to make it an 1/8" diameter.

Here are a couple of dimensions I used for turning the 3/4" birch dowel:

If you prefer centimeters, I'll ley you do the conversions:lol.
