Yes that is his website and yes, hindsight is 20/20. I have learned a few lessons from this deal, though. Unfortunately, at the time I was assuming that he was reputable, being so well-recognized by fans and professionals alike. He did sculpt out a rough Walt bust, so I have to believe he had the initial intent to follow through. But what happened to make him stop and become indignant towards me I just don't know. How can he think he is in the right here by not delivering the piece nor returning my money? If he was mad at me for something, well, ok, just return my money and walk away. In fact, I was even fair when I asked for my money back. I told him to just return the net that he received after Paypal took out their fees. It would be interesting to hear how he could justify his position on this. At one point, he told me he saved all our correspondences and he'd post them if I went public with this. Fine. I don't see how that would help him in the slightest. Again, either he owed me my commissioned sculpture, or my money back. Period.

Its a sad story ,but one that will help many others ,I am not in the market for what he sells , to pricy for me ,but if i ever am i won't buy from him , so. i thank you for posting this ,and hope he is a stand up guy , and repays you .other than that if you have receipts i would call in the feds . if i am not mistaken its mail fraud , and that i believe it is a felony . if you have records .get him

Exactly. I figure I'm about there now. I don't want to invest more money into this mess with an attourney, but if I can spread the word about him maybe people will be more cautious when dealing with him. Regarding mail fraud, it was via the internet (Paypal) so I don't think mail fraud applies?

was he going to mail it to you ? it costs nothing to ask the cops ,you hear all the time on these boards about members going after other mebers who have screwed them over , call the cops .where he lives and see if something can be done , its free.

LOL, well I wasn't going to mention the Jeff Parks thing here, but that also happened at about the same time! I have had rotten luck with prop related deals in the past, mostly because I have been too trusting/naive.
Although I have a positive update:
Out of the blue Mike has replied to one of my earlier e-mails, saying in a rather freiendly manner that he is planning to start on the Prowse shortly. No mention of this thread. I thought he might be setting himself up so that he could send another note soon acting all angry at me for doing it; giving himself some sort of reason to stall again.
But I'll say this, if Mike ever comes through I will be happy to report that and show off the sculpture here!

Seems like you got a fire under his butt. However, at this point, I would just ask for a refund. $4,000 seems like a bit much.
There are many fine, talented sculptors here you should ask.

i agree i would just ask for the remaining monies back.
if you havnt had the piece yet, your never gonna get it.
if you could get the funds back you could easily get it done cheaper by persons closer to home and a bit more reliable.
and with the money you have left over you could buy some stuff from me:lol

at this point i would just ask for my money back ,anymore understanding on your part is just gonna get you screwed in the end , he already knows how long you are willing to wait for this ,what makes you think he won't make you wait another 4 years ?
I would tell him you want your money back and promptly please.
All he will do is string you along.
Hi mate thats not good, I kind of had a little prob with a seller on ebay once where I sent them £200 for a phone, which I never got after no replys on the email, Even thou the guy lived at the other end of the country I just emailed him to say my brother works round the corner from him and he will knock and pick it up!!! next day cheaque was in my hand!!
Email him to say your in the UK next month.. and your pop by to pick your money up. Dont give him a day.. See what happens.

This is all good feedback, but Mike is continuing to e-mail with me, so for the moment, I'm gonna count my blessings and lay low on this thread and hope there's no reason to continue with it. But I'll post updates (hopefully positive ones) as I have them.
