I have been working on this for a few days, Its cleary had a ways to go but the overall form is shaping up nicely. I am treating this like a sculpt so when its completed it can be molded and made as a seperate front and back that is worn like a muscle shirt. I am follwing the details pretty close, and there are several little sculpted pieces that I am doing as well. the symbols on the trim of the chest are done by hand with the reference photos that have been posted, so thanks to all those who posted pics of his suit .

And don't worry the cd is just a place holder, as I haven't finished sculpting the medallion yet.

OK, I've GOTTA know, how did you do the metal strips? I really want to make this armor as well and have no idea how to tackle those.

Fantastic work, btw.

Awesome job! Did you engrave the leather yourself?

I'm pretty sure it's a pre-embossed commercial pleather, it's not carved.

By the way, one thing I noticed is that you've got strips at the edges of the mid-belt and below the CD, but those should actually be binding, like on a Sparrow baldric, and on the belt it goes all the way around, not just in the front.

what material are you working with currently? is that leather? it looks like leather but with the underside being so white i suspect that it probably isn't.
anywho looks great so far

Yea, it's pleather for sure. I think that particular stuff is available at Jo-Ann's.

Thanks for the great feedback :) the main part of the armor is a textured pleather I found at the fabric store, it was actually the only one they had so I went with it. I have no interntions of this being the finished wearable piece so I can use whatever I find to make the vest and not worry about colour or durability of this piece yet, and Once I get this all together I will mold it and cast it in latex so it will be a nice solid armor.

For the trim detail I used strips of plastic and hand carve the symbols. I might make then a little deeper to make sure they show once molded.

I will post more progress as I go.

Its white, and again it was just for effect to see what it looks like and keep me motivated. The top strip was painted gold straight over the white, the bottom was painted black then gold over it , which gives the better affect for sure. So thats how I will do it for the rest.

Well it's hard to tell from photos, but it looks really good. What type of paint did you use?

is this going to e based ff the movie costume or the video game? like in warrior within
