Primer help

Hi first question of many. I'm trying to customise a K2-SO figure, the decals, colour etc, seem quite nice, I just need to paint it, but it's made of a glossy plastic, I want to prime it, so paint adheres better, but also I want it to be more matte in appearance. I'm in the UK and I'm looking for a clear matte Primer. Do you have any suggestions? I know theres some available in the US and Australia, but can't seem to find the matte ones in the UK, I've tried Games Workshop but nothing.

i don't get it, you can't see and check for imperfections... also,, i guess since is clear is not sandable.
