Premiere Props?

I know there have been issues with Premiere Props via ebay auctions, but has anyone had problems with them when buying directly through their website?

I saw a few items there I'd be interested in, but if it's going to be a nightmare I'd rather just skip it.

Well, I can tell you from experience that they have become absolute DICKS when it comes to their customer service. They make absoluteley no effort at all to fix things if they screw up now (they used to be really nice about it), and they add on all sorts of very questionable charges: for example, I went to their location to pick up my buys, and they STILL insisted on charging for postage and handling.

I am not making this up.

If you complain about it they will snarl at you, and ban you from bidding on ebay. They need to hire some grownups to do their customer service.

I have got items direct and though ebay no problems at all, might be luck but have seemed pretty effiicient to me!?

I live 7 blocks away from them but I have never gone over to their shop. Maybe I should attend one of their aucitons...

I've had prob's with Premiere prop's poor customer care, disspatch time's, postage fee's & the item's not as seen on screen or advertised :thumbsdown,

Good luck

ive bought a few items from PP, picked up the items in person, always been treated good, had some nice conversations....

I have never been charged 'postage' when I pick up in person, but they do charge a $7 handling fee for up to 10 items (I think) when you pick up in person. I've never had them ship anything to me, so I can't speak for them shipping things.

As for items not matching on screen, they will get several of the same prop sometimes, and photograph one and re-sell it many times. So you won't always get the one photographed (this usually only applies to eBay, not the live auctions). They had a book I wanted from 1408, and I wanted to make sure I got the one used on screen, so I asked them to bring them all out. They had no problem with that, and brought out a stack of books, and I found the one I wanted. Of course they were all production made, but I wanted one I could match onscreen.

They are doing a live Underworld 3 auction on the 7th... Should be fun.

The one thing that has probably prevented me from having a bad experience with them is that I attend the auctions in person (and can thus see the items before I bid on them), and then carry them home myself. Usually no need for customer service (all though they always seem nice to me...), and no shipping, so I can't really speak for those two aspects of the company...

As someone said, they were once really good, very friendly helpful, however the last few times i have dealt with them they have been a bit of a nightmare.
They overcahrge a huge amount on postage, and i always have to email them to get them to refund the difference.
I won a hellboy bald cap. The postage was $80 to ship a piece of foam latex to the UK. When i got the parcel the postage was was something like $38. I mailed them and they did refund, however this happened more than once, and i can imagine alot of buyers wouldnt ask for a refund.
I've also noticed that once you ask too many questions you get banned on ebay from bidding.
Shame as they had some nice signed hellboy posters which went for virtually nothing, however i couldnt bid on those as they banned outside of the USA bidding.
I'd still buy from them however, just watch out with postage charges.

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to try ordering a small item and see how it goes. The long delay time between ordering and item arrival is a bit off-putting (the website states 2-3 weeks) but I guess I'll see how accurate that is.

Thanks again everyone.

Always check their feedback! I've been looking at a lot of peoples' feedback, and even if they have only a few negatives,I check to see why! Even if it's a few dozen pages! Lately it seems that FEEbay doesn't penalise power sellers for having more than a dozen feedback,or more being negative according to their policy to suspend users for this offence!

Um, are you sure that was Premiere Props? I don't believe Premiere has sold anything from Hellboy, that's a different studio than they usually sell for and is handled by a company called Hollywood Vault or Rainmakers.

never had a problem with them on ebay or from there sight.
Maybe they just like me cause I spend lots of money

Just to keep everyone up to date. Placed an order on 1/16. Order changed to "processing" status on 1/19. Shipped on 1/22. Due to arrive on 1/28.

One last follow up post. Package arrived a day early, packed very well and arrived in perfect condition. No problems what so ever. Thumbs up!
