Premiere Props - Hollywood Extravaganza X

I know we have had a number of threads about this, but wanted to start a dialogue about tomorrows auction.

Personally, I am fascinated to see what the Bane mask goes for as that appears to be a complete fiasco.

I am also interested to see what the Hand of God ends up at, as their estimates (at least in my opinion) seem crazy high.

Still debating on bidding on the Prometheus head... I passed on it in private sale... probably will pass on it again here, but I really do dig that piece... still tempted.

Aside from those few pieces.. nothing has really caught my eye.

Anyone else interested in sharing or are you keeping your cards close to your chest until the bidding ends?

Are they still selling the 'authenticated counterfeit' Star Trek piece? :)

I simply don't see how anyone can actually support that company... I won't even look at the auction until after it's over. They simply do not get my business anymore... Kind of said considering they are the ones that got me _into_ this hobby, and a majority of my collection came from there...

I am honestly very reserved about bidding as well given my previous experience with getting my items from them, but I am very interested to watch, as an observer at the prices a few of these pieces will bring.

Well personally Im very interested in the contact lenses, I think this is part of the market that has never really been served and if you think about it you see these more than the wardrobe in head shots!

I also really like La Forge visor.

Bidder Aiyuu has come out of the woodwork to buy all the resident evil stuff, which he does EVERY auction. Basically dont bother bidding against him. He's from over the ocean and basically will pulverize you with his checkbook.

Im going to say finally, and Im very cross about this. You think that if you knew you had stuff from the biggest tracking movie of the year in your auction you would have tried to advertise it more, put it on your flyers, had it on tv/radio or had more photos. The "Man of Steel" stuff will sell well because of all the work I put in to promote it...not theres. The fact that 12 of the top 50 items with the highest hits are mine (you can check that on icollector) is a miracle. I saw no promotion anywhere for my stuff, despite being promised it.

The Mark English communicator received more attention.

End of Line.

Sorry to hear of your recent problems with Premier Props Mark. I read an earlier post here where you said the following.

By coming on a forum as I forgot and going against the grain you open yourself up. I just thought after listening to employees there tell me they are trying to turn it around to just give them a chance.

So as usual my ideas and opinions over time has changed, and what I saw originally with there auctions has disappointed me and personally effected my bidding. I just choose to buy from them still on the pieces I want and set a figure and don't go over it.

There u go. The lesson learned here...

After your recent post above are you still willing to "give them a chance" and bid with Premier?

I remember your mentioning in April you were promised "exclusive articles on C2E2, VIP auctions and Premiere props". Did Premier not keep their word on that too?

Again, sorry for your troubles with them.

On another note, I noticed Lot #257- Small Soldiers Slamfist Production Figure uses a photo of the main, hero one I (still) own and won from PIH Auction 32 held 5 years ago in 2008.

First time I have seen an auction house use a totally different photo of a completely different item from a previous auction held by a different auction house to represent their lot.

It doesn't matter in the long run.

Like I said if someone promises me that something will be done a certain way I take them to there word. If you say that will be with you in a week and a half, and a week after the due date nothing arrives...guess what. Im let down.

To be honest, I have asked multiple times for VIP to do an article, and Premiere. Its the same when I contact people in the business. One day its, "yep we would love too"....then it all goes quiet. Pretty hard to schedule stuff when people don't return your calls. Thats why buying direct from Prop masters etc. is such a losing battle. They are always busy. You have to catch them exactly.

Hundred of thousands of people today get the same thing in the job market. Its props....my perspective isnt so skewed as to think it matters.

Lol...I'm sure there are many who want to say "I told you so". I said give them a chance....I didn't say let them roll over you with a tank....

Mark English communicator....oy vey.

I forgot to mention I also own the the self contained, wireless, hero Slamfist of which there is only one. If any others pop up they're not authentic.

As you should be, Mark. I look at what Prop Store did with the Dredd auction and truly believe that it was their over-the-top efforts at marketing that brought such over-the-top prices in their auctions. While Dredd is/was certainly hot, I truly believe that it was Prop Store's relentless marketing push that raised such a level of awareness that resulted in the insane prices we saw (and I believe are never going to see again when those items are eventually resold).

Wow... I can't remember what RPF member also has one of these promotional Bane masks, but you have to be feeling pretty good right now...

$10,250.

In the buildup for the bidding the promoter was very clear saying this is a "screen used... used in the movie mask. - This is an actual screen mask. - This is the real thing." They were exceedingly clear that this is one of the original pieces used in the film and worn by Tom Hardy and said it has all the provenance to prove it. They even stopped the bidding to reiterate this.

I am just stunned at that price. Also thought it was interesting that the winning bids become "undisclosed" once the bidding has ended.

Crud. Missed seeing what the Hand of God from 3:10 to Yuma went for. Anyone see it?

Despite spending 15-20 mins on them none of the guns met reserve from what I saw....wasting the makes time. Of course only reason I say this is they didnt sell last time. Its a proven concept, one that Screenused holds dear that once something comes to market it rarely gets more interest second time around.

I seem to remember the Hand of God going through Prop Store at one point, YEARS ago for around $7k. I thought the $$$s that were estimated here were high.

iCollector always does this with Premiere's auctions. Log in Live Auctioneers once the auction is over, the final prices will be available there (or, at least, have been in the past...)

I can make an Excel spreadsheet of all the lots and their final prices when the auction is over if anyone wants... (Based on LA, as long as they still list the prices...)

How did you do on your Superman pieces, Mark? I missed seeing them sell as well.

Everything sold...the most expensive item was the street sign for $350 I think. My last one is on ebay right now for ALOT less...thinking I might pull it and put it in another sale.

I didn't expect Bane mask money for this stuff, but at the end of the day its all from production and I hoped some people might want a souvenir at a fair price so Im happy.

I feel very sorry for this lady from the company selling celebrity music stuff for charity...everything has high reserves, nothings selling and more time wasted.

At a proper music event this stuff would have gone easily...but all the bids arent real to attempt to get it near the reserve.

Sigh.
