Let's hope the tusks are on the bio after all. The pred roaring without a bio in the trailer ( or was it just the sneak peek?) seemed to have a rather normal face.
You just don't go around messing with the geneticall makeup of everyone's favorite interstellar hunter
Some changes are needed I think. However, that concept illustration we've all seen of the "new" Predator head is awful. That is
NOT a Predator. Maybe it's my brain, my monitor, or my fanatical adoration of the Winston Predators, but I had a hard time reading the concept. I couldn't even tell what the hell was going on with the mouth. I am in no way a fan of the extra teeth or elongated chin, but atleast AVP stuck to the familiar Predator aesthetics. Even with all of the changes ADI made with Wolf, it was still recognizeable as a "Predator." Hell, if ADI had more time on the design of the character, they probably could've made it a really cool character. I'm not saying it was awful, but the concept was right-on.
I can get past the robot birds and Hell-Deer hunting dogs, but to change the Predator appearance so dramatically just to segregate them from the previous characters is a bit much.
Also, with the inclusion of the "Classic" Predator... why? I have several thoughts on this - it's a nod and tribute to the Late Stan Winston, or just the movie-makers' way of saying their SUPER PREDATORS are just so much more badass than the antiquated "classic" Predator. Because, seriously the only bits we've seen of this mystery hunter are of him bound to a pillar, and flailing around like a big bitch. But, if you happen to share my mindset, I see it like this - it took all three of the SUPER PREDATORS to capture the "classic" Predator. He's just that much of a badass. Yes, that works for me just fine. Maybe he gets loose and slaps the **** out of a couple of the new Predators. That would be a delight. But, I really doubt it, and I'm not about to read the script to find out.
beginning to that ending in the script i heard about... AKA the original lost hunters scene that was canned.
Wait... what?
