PREDATORS - MOVIE INFO

Let's hope the tusks are on the bio after all. The pred roaring without a bio in the trailer ( or was it just the sneak peek?) seemed to have a rather normal face.

You just don't go around messing with the geneticall makeup of everyone's favorite interstellar hunter

That bio would look ok without the tusks, but then the pred would just be wrong!!! hmmm i suppose we'l find out eventually.

I think the pred that roars in trailer is the "captured" pred but I guess time will tell...

Personally i hope he buys it during the opening credits! id love it if he fumbles out of the airlock or something during the preddy ship flyby

I also hope we'l see a play on some more familiar bio's with regards to the other 13 preds that will apparently feature, a nice black P2 for example could be cool to see imo, along with some of the lost hunter masks, if only to spare us from anymore original designs along the lines of the three seen already...

Ha that would be kinda funny to see happen but remember guys... Never judge a book by its cover or in this case never judge an alien by his helmet. If we do see the other 13 preds n screen well i'll be lost for words haha but uh i'm wondering if thats supposed the beginning to that ending in the script i heard about... AKA the original lost hunters scene that was canned. I'm ready for this movie ten fold and if it were comin out tomorrow i'd already be in line this very second.

Some changes are needed I think. However, that concept illustration we've all seen of the "new" Predator head is awful. That is NOT a Predator. Maybe it's my brain, my monitor, or my fanatical adoration of the Winston Predators, but I had a hard time reading the concept. I couldn't even tell what the hell was going on with the mouth. I am in no way a fan of the extra teeth or elongated chin, but atleast AVP stuck to the familiar Predator aesthetics. Even with all of the changes ADI made with Wolf, it was still recognizeable as a "Predator." Hell, if ADI had more time on the design of the character, they probably could've made it a really cool character. I'm not saying it was awful, but the concept was right-on.

I can get past the robot birds and Hell-Deer hunting dogs, but to change the Predator appearance so dramatically just to segregate them from the previous characters is a bit much.

Also, with the inclusion of the "Classic" Predator... why? I have several thoughts on this - it's a nod and tribute to the Late Stan Winston, or just the movie-makers' way of saying their SUPER PREDATORS are just so much more badass than the antiquated "classic" Predator. Because, seriously the only bits we've seen of this mystery hunter are of him bound to a pillar, and flailing around like a big bitch. But, if you happen to share my mindset, I see it like this - it took all three of the SUPER PREDATORS to capture the "classic" Predator. He's just that much of a badass. Yes, that works for me just fine. Maybe he gets loose and slaps the **** out of a couple of the new Predators. That would be a delight. But, I really doubt it, and I'm not about to read the script to find out.

Wait... what?

I really hope the classic pred design is a tribute to Stan RIP,and I really hope he gets revenge on the new super preds for capturing him

I fear they can take this new "super predator" thing out of proportion

I mentioned my lack of respect for the tusk bio to Ptgreek in chat , and he made a point that i can only HOPE is true.

WHAT IF the tusks only extend when he wants them to? sort of a intimidating show.

i know id prefer that a **** load more than having them constantly there.

Hmmm what do you mean by the tusk? As in they come out and slide back in on the bio?
I would mind that. It would also be really cool to see something make it work when we get people making these.

I agree with Robillicus 110%. If they just put the Stan Winston predator in here as a tribute and this new "super" predator which if it look anyhting like the sketch art that was seen in the seek peak well that is NOT a predator by any means. As good as the movie looks and what not if this is in fact what they do and basically say this "super" predator is this much better than the original well that is absolute crap. I truly hope this is NOT the case.........

Yeah if that is what they are going for its kind of an insult to the hard core pred fans I think,I hope thats not the case

And kills "Plow" as painfully as possible!!! ;)

We are assuming of course that they captured our favourite hunter, we are assuming also that that actually is the P1, although it does look very similar. I guess we'l have to wait and see. as for the tusks retracting, that would be nice, they are a bad gimmick imo, so if they stayed away most of the film id be very happy! for a creature that spends its time running through tree's and being generally stealthy they make no sence at all despite my negativity towards the preddy designs (they are rubbish lets be honest!) i am looking forward to this a great deal.... i just hope we aren't all left dissapointed again.

it cannot be P1 , he's in about 1 million peices.

the LOOK of the P1 is what they have gone for.

Very true, but i havn't read the script etc and wont be doing so so im not assuming anything about when this is set... i.e before or after P1, personally id rather this just be predator 3 with no ties other than a few familiar looking preds.

I will not read the script either and I just want this to be just plain Predator 3 to,no ties or anything that could srew this movie up

RR stated that this would not be a follow up to P2

I just read something that is interesting.......they say the BIG cameo in this movie is that the P1 predator is in this film?? How does this make any sense unless they show a cut scene of the past or a past like beginning/background on the the 2 predator cans on this planet and the P1 happen to belong to one of them. I also read that the 3 predators that you see are the main ones. The "plow" is the hound hunter and one of the other 2 is the predator that uses a UAV like bird/creature and the last one is the "super" predator but to me none of these 3 look so SUPER to me. What do you guys think or have heard?

This is the best one I could find. They say that the predator in the movie with the tusks, his dreds are further back than normally what we are used to seeing so speculation is this may be what he looks like.

RR has stated that he does not want this to be another installment in a long line of movies. He feels that the longer you go in that direction, the more you lose (ex: Friday the 13th and Freddy movies). He wants it to feel like the first of this franchise. This is why he's going back to the formula of the original movie. Group of badasses in a jungle with something hunting them.

The "original" that he's referring to is in design only. Not THE original P1 making an appearance. He's dead, we all saw it happen, lol. He wanted that one to be as close to the original design as possible. I think what RR is trying to explore in these new designs would be a different race within the same species. Or even genetically enhanced in someway maybe. I don't think they will look as drastically different as the one in the above picture is. When you look at concept sketches from all predator movies, you have the really out there variants that never make it to screen. I think we'll see something like the above picture that is blended in to the original design. Things such as the elongated mandibles and tusks and further back dread line can be chalked up to differences between predator races all within the species.

As far as the "tusk" bio, those aren't his mandibles sticking out from under his bio. That are physical tusks taken from a slain enemy that he has grafted on to the front of his bio for intimidation and looks. You can see where they form into the snout of the bio as well as some sort of tribal roping around the base of the tusks.
