predator spear

does anyone know how to make a working ( extendable and retractable by button) predator spear,
that still can look like the predator spear the elder gave to Alexis in A.V.P.
directions or a manual with pictures would help a lot
thanks for the help

hmm not sure if this would help, but I was going to make one out of two retractable umbrellas. You could add foamies or something and make it look pretty legit.

Hope it helps man

There is a thread of one made from two toy lightsabers but I cant find it.

If anyone knows where the thread is please post it as I need it for reference for my own build. Thanx.

VaderDave,

I remember that thread, about the lightsabers... I went and bought 'em.... now I can't find the thread either (*facepalm*)

Well, I've traced back to a thread (Which I can't locate) entitled, ALPHATECH SPEAR PROJECT: Functional spear plans.

Not sure whatever happened to it or ALPHATECH; perhaps one of the mods knows the history...

Yeah, me too. Have no idea where it went and I cant find it with the search. IF the author of that thread could repost it, it would be appreciated.

Hi guys, yeah that was my thread build, sorry I deleted it. ~ I'll try to repost it when I get a chance. Things have gone the way of the pear lately and I have had NO time.

cheers

Hey, at least there's an answer! Sweet! Something else to add to the, "Things I want to build but will just give my wife another reason to shake her head at me" list...

Now, I realize that the following video is of a gaunt, but the concept is extremely simple (Basically, it's a high-end version of MasterAnubis' Working Wrist Blade Gauntlet). However, the springs and rails are what I'm focusing on as being the important aspects of the desing. Though I really dig the concept of the automatic umbrellas, I'm not sure the spring mechanism would be strong enough and/or that a stronger spring wouldn't mess up the existing mechanics and blow the whole damn thing apart (Worth a shot, though, LOL).

At any rate, just wanted to throw this out there for people to chew on: Saw Movie Replica - Jigsaw's Gauntlet Arm Blade Sword

As for the actual spear rods, in order to cut down on weight, I have been chewing on using Telescoping sized Carbon Fiber Tubes. Though, this may make this project EXTREMELY pricey, if I can't find a cheaper supplier, LOL...

Im going to be posting two spears very soon in the buy and sell thread for very cheap.
just a lil over the cost of the spears for my time and paint and what not.

they are the force action light sabers but painted, and are held together with an epoxy and steel wrap.
doing a couple different designs and colors as well stay tuned.
