Predator Reboot

wow bro ..need a hug? "no offense"? yes ..you meant every offense ..at least sack the **** up and say that. I have no problem with the difference of opinion with me

either way, i actually do live in work within the film industry. Obviously you've checked out Immortal Masks and felt the need to clown me. Good for you .thanks for visiting my page, site, what have you. So this is my job ..and  I have many friends that work in this same industry. Many of them in those MAJOR films you seem to think only hold credo in the world. They generally feel the same way as i do, that there is a misconception in branding "Hollywood" as a single entity. And yes ..i think i can honestly be of the opinion that the film makers of a movie of ANY budget and scope dont intentionally set out to make a ****** movie.  Do you have a problem with the content of my views or the way that im expressing them. I have known Andrew and Rob for a long time. I consider both friends ..many things we completely agree on and there may be times that we dont. I share the same passion in my views as they do ..and obviously as you as well. But heres the thing..  youve become extremely opinionated about the right to an opinion. I kinda of agree with you ..but by that same token at least allow me to have mine. No where did i claim anything that was untrue. Film has a rich history ..sequels and remakes are part of them. We are allowed to decide for ourselves if a movie is great or horrible, but we do so after we SEE the film. I think this may be more of the point i was trying to make. The new Pred film isnt even in treatment form and there is a HUGE internet buzz/backlash/rumor mill etc. Movieman ..you should know that it's far too early to make any sort of advanced judgement call.

Now ..if this really comes down to you PMing me about a Stunt helmet, and being pissy because Im not making them anymore ..well brother, "**** you"!  I sensed your attitude in those PMs and i bet you just couldnt wait to jump all over my ass in a public thread ..Bravo dude .. you came off shining

for the record ..this was this douches last PM to me   I was extremely nice to you *******. I explained why im not making the Stunt right now and that it had nothing to do with whether you were a fanboy or as you called yourself a 41 year old serious collector.  Look at you being nice to me in this PM  ..******* kiss ass thought i worked on the film ..  I was nice enough to explain that i didnt, but have friends that did ...When was i ever a dick to you buddy? You didnt get what you wanted from me and now you think you have your shot at ******* with me ..awesome bro .. guess what ?..youre still not getting a bio

Moviemans last PM with me a few months back :

"If you know of any be a huge help that or an icons cast.  Ok understood   good luck with your shop honor talking-to someone who worked on this film thanks .

I don't think they used your mold as a ref the sideshow is way off and not close to the Original and looks odd the P-2 is horrible  . I had the Icons years ago its by far the best I  have ever seen and was cast from a production bio . Only problem the resin  or fiberglass they used was brittle and not solid was hollow on the sides .  Once it hung in the wall mount that was a block of of something the mask started to fold from its own weight on  the sides or rim of the helmet .

Silicone mask are amazing how they sell in this economy for you .

I truly hope film makers bring back your profession in movies instead of writing the film around cgi
its ruined the movie experience and  industry completely .

Threads like this are one of the reasons I visit rarely.

Arrognace, rudeness and teenage mentality have no place on what I fondly remember as the the premier & most active site for the Predator fanbase.

But back to the movie - having spent a few days thinking about the possibilities here, I'm now REALLY pleased about this news.  I particularly like this comment from Shane . . . "Why start over, when you've all this rich mythology yet to mine?"

Seriously thinking of starting an online petition to encourage Fox to use Narin for the Pred (and other) designs.

.

You got a problem little boy blue ? Your one  angry little flunky with a chip on his shoulder .

Who gives a **** about my Pm ?  Yes people said contact PT he has a **** box mold that needs more work then a car hit head on by a Mack truck   .  Sure no problem , That was how long ago you little know it all phony? Hey you want to name call and act crazy ? **** it lets get crazy you hack.  I will be happy to talk this out face to face little boy blue .  Put that in your busted up piece of **** box mold that nobody gives a **** about or your so called HUGE movie making  presence in the industry . Maybe thats why Sideshow made that piece of **** helmet and tossed yours into the bin its that worthless  ? Most people on here won't touch that thing its a wreck . I emailed you once you said you and a partner were playing around with silicone masks and I moved on politely .

Who the hell are you kidding or trying to show off to ?  . Go make a mask with some playdough then scream at it you crazy ass wannabe . And yes your a phony self proclaimed King kong FX artist or mold maker not sure which who hasn't done **** to make a FEATURE FILM and never will!!!!  Now go make me a pot pie make yourself useful . Here case its to hard let me write it down for you.

1. preheat oven 450
2. take pie out of box
3. Place onto sheet
4. slice holes into top of pie
5. cook 30-35 mins till brown
6. Call me when its done!

It would be really sweet to see narin get hired to design the preds for sure, though I guess it depends on the aesthetics they want to achieve with it.

movieman2005, you are far out of line in your very personal attack against ptgreek that seems to have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic at hand but with the fact that George is no longer offerings castings from the stunt P1 mold. If you want to debate the merits of another Predator movie, by all means, continue on as that is what this thread is for, but the personal attacks and jabs absolutely end here. Please don't press us on this point.

Wow this went off quick. Anyway I love my stunt. Its the pride or my collection. That's half the fun, fixing up this piece of history. The stunt is the best P1 out there.

On a happier note, I am really looking forward to a new movie, especially now that Shane has verified this is a sequel. Niche markets like this are kept alive by movies and the Lair is a perfect example of this.

The Lair came along shortly after AVP revitalized the Predator franchise and just as hype was being built for AVP2. It didn't matter that both of those movies were terrible... fans just wanted to see more Predator and this community was sustained by it. The community got another injection in 2009-2010 from PREDATORS and when I came on board, the community was just beginning to wane, a little over a year later.

So, even though I am looking forward to the movie and am excited about it, I am actually more excited to see the Lair get another Predator infusion and see all the hype, excitement and enthusiasm a new movie brings.

what I dont get is this ..after siphoning through Moviemans personal attacks at me, its seems like we may actually agree on the point i was trying to make. Look man, Its true i may have come off as a bit defensive of the industry but i may have a right to be. I owe not only my livelyhood to it, but my integrity as well. I worked very hard in a very short time to get to where I am today ..and every year that passes the opportunities have always gotten better. I owe very much to this industry. I ALSO owe very much to this forum. While i was in film school ( many people here know me from that period of my life as well) i took a keen interest in practical effects. Forums such as the Hunter's Lair were a training ground of sorts. Many past members were kind enough to share valuable information with me. In turn, i have tried to give back what i have received. I have made strong friendships here. many members are personal friends. we hang out when time permits. You approached me about the stunt bio and i was nice to you and gave you the lowdown on its  current state of production. You REALLY wanted one. now im a phoney King Kong effects artist. where the **** did that come from? And honestly bro ..you obviously know absolutely nothing about the genesis of the new Sideshow P1 ( which was sculpted by Matt Rose almost 2 years ago now) . So im the hack you came begging for a stunt bio, huh? Did i approach you? Did i do something to you personally? ***** man ..do you even see how you come off?

I really dont have anything to prove to you. You hide behind your username. Most of the people here know me by name ..many have met and hung out with me personally. Id like to think that i've been cool with everyone here. I really dont get where you are coming from

Movieman, I've issued a warning and asked that you refrain from this type of behavior.  If you persist I have no qualms in showing you the door.  I'm also asking everyone else whos commented here to return to the topic at hand.  Despite this it was becoming a decent topic on the reboot/sequel.

I think you're referring to the berserker.  I didn't care for his head design but his skin pattern and color was pretty cool.

I don't recall if the classic's mouth closed properly but I was speaking more in general, haha. After Predator 2 all the predators had weird mandibles. AVP and AVPR especially had this weird contraption that had the mandibles just kind of tuck in at the sides instead of closing like it did in P1 and P2 which bothered me because I felt the Winston designs were so much cooler and organic looking.

Ah, well true.  I'd definitely like to see a return to the look of the first two movies.
Either that - or (even better - as I posted earleir in the thread) some of Narin's.

Narin & Aaron (who both post here) are the only 2 sculptors I've ever seen improve on the designs from the first 2 movies.

Having said that, if the next movie included P2's in the same way PREDATORS included the P1 (without killing them!) then I'd be in a P2 heaven!

I'd also love to see females introduced (Narin's done some cool designs there as well!)

.

I'd love to see designs like those in the movies.  I just keep thinking they have the Lost Hunters as the perfect tie in.  It'd be cool if they simply used one or two of those characters and continue with them in a new story.  Hippie or Borg would be particularly interesting to me.

Now I've never read a whole lot of the predator comics/novels, but maybe Fox and Mr. Shane Black will look at some of the predator designs. I wasn't a big fan of the whole machiko or whatever her name was, because they tried to do that in AVP and to me, it wasn't terrible, but it just doesn't work for me. But maybe they'll just get some design input from there. Or maybe, if they reach out or the Hunters Lair reaches out, some of the members here will inspire them. Just brainstorming.

Please edit the topic name it's a sequel not a reboot.
Now we just need to find out if it'll be a sequel the abomination PredatorS, or the perfect sequel Predator 2.
If it happens to be a sequel to P2, we will need the synopsis, actors name wich fit (NOT BRODY), the rating (PG-13  will not be tolerated) the score music composer(Silvestri) and the SFX department.
(Winston Studio strongly recommended).

This is what the true fans want.

Thank god it has turned away from a reboot.  I could see a sequel working as long as it holds true to the original movies.  Throwing in a bunch of comic book crap, and adding the silliness that is humans fighting along side Predators would easily turn it into a waste of time and money in my opinion.  Hopefully Shane is smart enough to see/know what the fans want and can produce something worthy of a sequel.
