I know they do a lot of re paints but I wonder why they haven't swapped heads and other mandibles on different heads. Custom guys already do that.

hey guys, i hope this is not not offtopic, but i don't wanted to create an extra thread for this. there is this guy called "jin saotome" who builds custom figures and sells them on ebay. at the moment he sells a "Custom neca PREDATOR WARRIOR Aliens vs Predator Arcade game" figure and someone has already bidden 240$.
I checked his other stuff and saw an old auction where someone payed like 600$ for another custom predator figure. is this for real??

would someone really pay this amount of money for such a simple and small custom figure???

Checked the item on eBay, looks genuine. It's a decent enough custom job, a bit on the beefcake side but I'd find it hard to justify a price higher than $40, $60 max. Some of the customisers on this forum (I'm looking at you Cyclone and Raiyuri

) do much better work but even then a price tag above $100 is more than a little insane. Then again, there are plenty people who don't have the skills to sculpt and paint, but have money to burn so: to each his/her own.

Also, speaking as a customiser, my custom preds are valuable to me because I did them up myself and no amount of money would convince me to part with them.

About Jin the customizer, I've known him online for years. Anything he sells on eBay sells for $100+ usually just on his name alone. People are basically paying for his name as a piece of art work.

not a big fan of those reimagined kenner preds. but damn, this lava planet predator looks awesome. this figure really takes me back. i played the crap out of this guy as a child and dreamed of good articulated predator figures.....

Oh wow I didn't realize that the Kenner figures were that small back in the day. the paint job is way better, but that doesn't mean that I like the Kenner figures any less than I did when I was a kid of course.

Found the Kenner Tribe yesterday at a specialty store. I have to say these are some of the best looking predators in a while. They look amazing due to the colors and unique designs. Not sure who my favorite is. Love all of them for different reasons.
