Im planning on making my own predator mask(face not bio) with latex.
1) I wanted to know what type of clay to use and were to get it from.
2) i wanted to know if i could use any kind of latex or is thier a specific kind of latex for this work.
(Also what predator head should i sculpt, i already know what mask i want but the predator who weres the mask never showed his face. So if you guys can give me ideas on that, tell me what predator it is and ill find images of him.)
Thanks for reading!

There are many different sections in this site that will help you decide all u need to do is use the search tool to find it
And which Bio mask r u using?
I have 13 different pep Bio files and could show u where to get them
I have all the Bio masks from the game alien vs predator , the P1 Bio, P2 Bio , Mr.black and falconer from predators

Welcome to the lair...strap yourself in for a wild and crazy ride!  Lots of good questions, and there are tons of different answers to them all.  In short, any type of clay can be used, but the vast majority use an oil base clay.  Oil base clay doesn't dry out, and you can choose the hardness that you like.  The biggest thing to remember is to make sure it is either sulfur free, or sealed very well sealed (gloss clear coat paint works).  As far as latex, RD-407 of "casting" latex is the way to go.  Many places online sell it in different quantities...best thing to do is fire up Google and see what you can find.

As I said, these is the short answers.  best thing you can do is start searching around the site, as there's already a ton of more detailed info on these subjects, and many more.  Also, check out the masks and body suits section here; there's quite a few good sculpts going on right now.  Lots of info can be found on YouTube as well.  Good luck, and keep us up to date with your progress!

P.S.  Pop on over to the "new members introduce yourself" thread and make it official while your at it  :)

That's the stuff!  I've not used the FX Warehouse latex before, but I have used some of their other stuff, and been pleased with it.  Also, I read back through your post, and realized I didn't say anything about what heads you should sculpt.  I personally am partial the the P2 style of head, but the P1 works well as an all around good base to start from.  Have you considered doing something a little more custom?  With that bio, you could do just about anything you wanted.  If I were doing it though, I would wait to start the sculpt until I had the bio in hand.  That way you can get the proportions just right, and you'll know that the bio will fit perfectly on the mask.  I've never sculpted a head, but would imagine (at least for me) that it would be easier to sculpt a mask if I had some dimensions to go by.  Ultimately, it's up to you and what you like.  Go for something that hasn't been done before.  Good luck!

As an aside, I have no artistic ability at all, and sculpting . .  well . .  anything, is pretty much beyond my ability.  I am insanely jealous of those who have that skill and talent.   ;)

I tried sculpting a few small things, and they . . .  uh . . . didn't work out.  ;)

I've decided that foamies are my medium of choice.  Give me enough foamies and enough glue, and I can make absolutely anything.  :)

Mon getting paid on march 15!! :) stay tuned because ill start my sculpting soon!! Ill update this and tell you when i get everything soon.
