Predator 3 or AVP 3?

Well, at comingsoon.net, I've found this:
"Brothers Greg and Colin Strause had this to say about a third film - "AVP-R" definitely leads into another film. While "AVP-R" takes place in an American Midwestern town, for the next film, they want to take the action back into space. As a matter of fact, they said that 20th Century Fox has no choice other than to agree to take it back into space following "AVP-R.""
But it does not say yet when they going to make the movie, but I guess they are coming up with a story for it now.

Secret films? Bleh! Cloverfield was supposed to be a "secret film" and we saw how that went... hopefully the Aliens and Predator(s) will get more than a minute of screen time

I don't care as long as we get more Predator! It would be neat to have Predator 3 in the alien timeline with just a passing mention about the aliens without ever seeing them. I've always wished that they would make a movie of the first AVP novel Prey. I loved the character of broken tusk, and it would give us a chance to see the Pred elder smacking a cocky unblooded around and learning a little about humans. That should've been the first AVP film instead of introducing a lame character like lex. I just don't want another film set on earth, and especially no more ******* teenager films! If we have to have another AVP film, let's see the colonial marines again, this time in the middle of the battle between the Preds and aliens. I'd still love to see the Pred capture party entering the hive and snatching the queen!

The predators to snatch the queen? That would be awsome!
But I didnt think the AVP-R was so much of a teenage-movie, I mean;
A child gets killed in the beginning,
then peoples get their heads blown of,
one get his face melted away by alienblood,
and then you have the scenes at the hospital where pregnant women gets aileneggs in their stomach and dies brutally (like everybody else for that matter).
And not to forget, the blond girlfriend gets pinned to the wall by a predator, and her organs are hanging out and drops to the floor (in the directors cut).
Overall that movie was probably one of the most bloody thats been made, with predators. So I wasnt really dissatisfied about the movie, and I liked that they brought more life in an Elder, instead of just standing around at the end of the movie and giving things to the last human alive.
But the first AVP was a little lame, i can agree. It was fun to see all the details they put on the walls and such, but it was a bit too dark to see it complety.
For a new movie, I would like to see more of the predators homeworld and culture. And for a battle to take place in space along with an enemy of some kind. Aliens or humans, or some other new alien/monster. They can fight the Teletubbies for all I care, they're more scary then the predators!
But I guess we just have to wait and see... B)

Do any of the people who work with the Alien vs Predator movies no of the Lair? If not can't we get in touch with them and let them no of us and then ask if we can't write up the movie well 1 or 2 of us anyway if they said yes then we could take a vote on whoever has creatd the best story and then finally we can have a movie worth watching. (Just an idea) =]

Can't we just start something for the next film like get a load of names here from the lair saying we want some1 here to write the next film weather its AvP3 or Predator 3 and see if they let us?
Cas all i keep thinking about at the moment is the next film and how rubish its gonna be if nothing is done, if they said yes every1 who wants to write a story writes 1 then we could vote for the 1 we like most.
Just an idea though =/

I definately think that they should make a predator 3 because i am a huge predator fan and the aliens are just kinda boring to me. They should do it in the future when humans have found over hundreds of new galaxies and they just happen to stumble apon another planet like earth. But its the predators home world!!!

Another Idea that would be cool would be to do something along the lines of Concrete Jungle (the Video Game)...The Roswell crash was a Predcator ship & we have reverse enginered alot of Tech from the remains & now here comes a Wolf-type chracter to clean up the mess & take back the Tech...Pred hapiness ensues...
Im with the guy who said they should have done the 1st AVP based on the AVP Books/Graphic Novels. Im beginning to wonder if the writers actually are Pred fans or just out to make some coin. I KNOW for a FACT that any one of us on The Lair with the slightest bit or writing talent could write a WAY better script than what has been showing up lately.

it makes me laugh when someone from the studio says they are huge pred or alien fans or have watched the films hundreds of times and they talk about bits form the film and they cant remeber chracters or details that somone who is "obsessed" with the films would have no problem remembering
i cant count how many tiems ive watched predator and predator 2 but its alot more than hundreds even if its just bits of the films

I would like to see Predator 3 as a story of an Elder Predator who gave pistol to Harrigan in Predator 2.
Just gonna outline the idea briefly:
It will begin on Predators planet, where new recruits (lets make it 5) are joining clan for the hunt and the trial. Among these new recruits is that Elder Predator shown in Predator 2 movie, lets call him X.
After all preparations the leader of the hunting pack gathering all on board (it would be nice to see female predators involved in scene where they say last good bye to their men) and sets ship to Earth.
While they are flying to earth, another scene on actual earth should be shown to outline the year which all will be going on. And the year will be 1715.
In that earth scene will be shown an Armada of Spanish Conquistadores ships landing somewhere in Mexico jungles.
There will be leader of conquistadores named Y. Some other characters. And loads of other soldiers.
So, there goes screen back to predators ship, entering Earth's Atmosphere and landing in Mexico jungles and all went to check the area and start to look for preys.
Then predators find Indians, starting to hunt them without any difficulty for new recruits, but all of a sudden conquistadores shows up and fire power of their guns and amount of men always sticking together (50 to 200 men in one pack) gets predators cought with surprise.
Then goes scenes where predators fight concquistadores and Indians. All predators gets captured or killed but X. And then hunt starts after X lead by vicious and scareless man Y.
After all those fights exausted X gets to Y into his camp and kills him and then got surrounded by soldiers who ready to fire, a comondant comes up to X and gives him pistol (which shown in Predator 2 movie, when he gave that pistol to Harrigen) , and telling to his men to get back to ships and let predator be.
Then predator comes back to ship and flies back to his planed. Now he knows value for the lives, both his, his clan mates and his preys.
The End.

How about they make a Predator 3 instead of another AvP3 or AvP4 or however many **** sequels they want to make. In Predator 3 there will BE NO references at all towards Aliens or the Colonial Marines. None what so ever because the Predator was a great stand alone character before Dark Horse decided to pair them up. The skull in the P2 trophy case was a joke by the prop guys. There wasn't some deeper meaning to it. The Predator can survive without the Alien in the same ******* movie. I guess that's not entirely true now as FOX has melded the two franchises together because they're too cheap.
They need to move the Predator away from the Aliens because there have been two movies put out that are just crap. Now I'm not looking for oscar worthy, but come on! Something that's better than the last two films. Give the Predator back to Stan Winston Studios. Give the Alien back to a studio who would stay true to Gigers design. I mean ****... after Alien 4, he's probably gone bat-**** insane by now- not to mention all the **** he went through with Alien 3. I'm surprised the guy hasn't gone postal after all the awful changes to his creation. Clearly FOX will not put the money into the Predator or Alien characters, so they should just stop altogether.
"Well, it's got the Predator in it so I will go see it regardless." Show some self-control. Starve the studios of your $7, $10 or how ever much it costs to see a movie now. That's why they keep putting **** out, becaue you're going to go see it regardless. You don't care about anything that has to do with either character, you just want to see them on screen. Well that's all fine and good.. you have have fun with your cheap-ass knock offs of the real thing. FOX needs to get it's **** together and hire some exceptional writers that can come up with a good story, and give both characters back to SWS.
Put the ******* magic back into movies where it belongs.
