I'm fairly new to the site but one thing about Predator 2 has been nagging me for the longest time. In the scene where Mike and the predator are hanging off the roof why is it never touched upon the fact that there is most definitely an alien hand in the alley bellow that no doubt someone will find, most likely the government organization that was hunting the predator to begin with. I just feel it's not talked about enough you know?

That's ... actually a solid point. Not only a hand but piece of the bomb gauntlet too ... never really thought about that.

In Predator 2, the government organization who were put in charge of hunting this creature down had that specific place on lock down. They may have certainly picked up the hand for their own research.Furthermore, i'm certain Harrigan didn't just walk away from his encounter with the P2. He even told the agents that they will get their chance in the future. He was supposed to return somewhat in Predators but that was cut.
The hand piece simply solidifies the government organisations cause, it gives them a motive and solid proof that these creatures truly exist. Whereas in the first film we only get a testimony from Dutch and that woman. And the evidence of a nuclear explosion witnessed by the helicopter.
Other than that there is no solid proof that it truly exists, however, it is almost certain that they capitalized on Dutch's testimony and experience and did further research into the matter. After all, it killed all of his men and he was sent to encounter the creature...
In P2, the agents utilized Dutch's information.

The Bomb gauntlet was shattered to pieces last time I checked.
The hand would only mean that they have solid evidence that these creatures exist and that all their funding was not in vein.
The government organisation are interested in the weaponry that the Predators have. We see at the end of AVPR their fascination with wolf's plasma pistol.

I know right but my reasoning for the bomb gauntlet was I thought I saw Mike cut through it and that's why it didn't go off which would basically make it a high tech piece of garbage but his hand would definitely lead to scientist testing and probably human experimentation kind of like Ripley 8 ya know but more intentional rather than a product of being cloned with the Xenomorph in you.

Maybe, but not in 1997.
Puts Predator hand in stasis is all they could do... at that given time and moment. Humanity doesn't have the technology at that time to do something like that.
Ripley 8 came about almost 100-200 years later.

True but knowing the AvP universe they'd have some kind of technology hidden away in their secret government lair rubbing their hands together menacingly with Predator/Human hybrids.

AVP isn't canon. With either franchise i'm afraid.
However, within the non-canon universe I'm sure there are all kinds of things going on behind the scenes.
