And then comes the mint green silicon. I dont have a vaccum-degasser like most of us, so to help limit the bubbles i poured the silicon from up high so it squeezes down to just a thread and pops any bubbles. Once its in the mold you can LIGHTLY bang your hand on the table and it will further dislodge any airbubbles and as they float to the surface you can blow on them and they will pop.
Not sure if anyone has tried this with silicon, but it's a trick when pouring concrete counter tops, so not sure why it wouldn't work: take a palm vibe sander and replace the sandpaper with wax paper, and then run it around the box...
Any updates on the dreads? Dying to see you make those. What foam do you plan on using?
Wow, who did the paint job on your mask? it looks great! This is the same Predator mask I have but it's still unpainted and I'm afraid to give it a first go myself with no airbrushing skills...maybe you can give me the name of the artist who painted yours so I can see if there's a possibility of getting mine done like this...it looks awesome; great dreads too!Finaly got to borrow a digital camera because mine ate it, so here are some pics of the rough dreads. I have been having some trouble with these so i just ordered some very expensive mold release that is supposed to improve the skin quality. I had to resort to using vasaline as a release for these ones, untill the good stuff arives so results will be different. Overall tho i love these things, they are so soft and floppy. They come out with no flashing edges or seam lines if the foam comes out right. I should have the new release by next week and i will be able to show the difference. And dread rings are being sculpted and will be molded soon. They should help the littler dreads that want to stick strait out settle down a bit and hang more naturaly. Thanks for looking!
