PREDATOR 2.0

Well let me know if your interested. I will be posting a few for sale in the buy sell trade section soon. PM me if you want to know more.
I will be inquiring about that as well. I think the quills on your finished one need to be trimmed down a bit, but other then that I love the scales and the very detail that you have put into this piece excellent job man :)

You really did an outstanding job on this, Start to finish.

The textures and details were great, the molds were expert quality, and the pulls turned out immaculate.

Amazing work!

Thank you all for commenting! It is the fuel that keeps me going! :) Well i have been experimenting with foam filling my masks, so i wanted to discuss it with everyone and see what you think. Idealy, i would have a hollow head cast with a hole drilled on the inside to act as a pour spout for the polyfoam wile it is still in the mold BUT, my headcast is solid so that rules that out for now until i can make a beter one later. So what i have been doing is covering my headcast with a layer of vasaline (to keep the polyfoam from sticking) and pouring the polyfoam into the head and then sliding it back onto the headcast, wile the head is hanging upsidedown to prevent the latex from sagging. I have been expirimenting and i have found that just foam filling the crown of the head down to about the eyes is more than enough. The rest of the face is supported and where the dreads will attach is all supported but the rest of your face can breath, not to mention that polyfoam leeches oils because it is a petrolium product, that can irritate your skin. So having the area around your face and neck open underneath its a little less hot and uncomfortable to have on for long periods. I am not saying this is "the way" to do this but this is what i have found that works best for me. Because it cant be in the molds when i do it, there can be slight variations in the mask, but it never goes out of symmetry because the latex it to thick to allow it too. Well here is a simple picture to demonstrate a foam filled head... Thanks for looking.

any pics of it with a bio put on it?

There will be soon but i have a few other projects to finish up first. I am currently making the sculpture/base for a set of dreads that will perfectly fit this head. I will post pictures shorty of that progress. As for the bio i will be making several that will custome fit this head, and will be held on with magnets. More soon! :p

Ok and here it is, the first progress pictures of the dreads that are made to fit this head. The biggest of the dreads is about 1 inch around by 19 inches long, down to the smallest one is 7/16 of an inch by 5 inches. I decided i wanted to make them out of self skinning expanding foam so i will be molding these in silicon. I have an order in for some supplys and once they arive i can get started. These dread bases are dowel rods i took to the belt sander to rough it out, and my handheld sander to smooth them down so they are hopefully smooth as glass. I have a tiny bit more sanding to do but the basic shapes are there. I cut down on the size of these dreads because of the lessons i learned from my last set of dreads- The last set was so long it got to be to heavy on the head and would pull the latex and make distortions. These are about the same length as the P1's and with makeing them out of just foam this time they will be very light and bouncy and comfortable to wear around. Thanks for looking.

what is the size of this mask? Can you use one of the P1 bios on page 1 next to it for reference?

Yea i can if you want but those bios were made to fit a different head, they are kind of irrelivent to this head. The dimentions of the head are roughly 1 foot from bottom of the neck to top of the head and 10 inches across at the widest part of the crown. It was made on my lifecast and i have a pretty big mellon, so it should fit about anyone. It is smaller than the origional P1 because im not 7'4" like kevin peter hall and if i made it that size it would look like a bobble head on somone normal sized. So its normal relitive to somone about 6 foot tall. Hope this helped.

makes sense most mask are close to 1:1, you gotta put up a pic of you wearing it, i am 6'1 and im really interested in seeing it on a person :p
