Post Worldcon Value of Blade Runner Blasters?

So with all the revelations that Worldcon brought about Deckard’s screen used blaster what has this done to the value of the older more inaccurate replicas that are out there? I am asking because I would like to sell my Coyle Version 4.8 but I am not sure what the heck it is worth. I don’t need to get back the price I paid for it but I don’t want to get too little. Anyone have any opinions on this?

Hard to say... there are plenty of people that want and prefer the C&S blasters but I think that many are seeing that there are quite a few alternatives out there and that with all of the new details that have been discovered recently that the current stock of blasters that are available will require quite a bit of modifications to be accurate. With that in mind I believe that people are buying cheaper kits and buildups to modify such as the great MiM model that is soon to be released.

I haven't seen replica prices go down at all, even the older "inaccurate" replicas still sell for a good chunk of change. I think as long as your 4.8 is in good condition, you should be able to get what you paid for it.

On prop related boards I've not seen a C&S go for near what was paid for it, at least not for some time but I guess that can be said for almost any type of prop or costume. A lot of people don't like dealing with Ebay (including me) but you are likely to get the highest price there.

The blaster and display are in great condition so that is not a problem. I would rather avoid eBay fees if I could but I will list it there if I have to. I think with all the alternatives to the C&S out there now I will have to lower the price somewhat.

You should get $350.00 without much problem. Any higher than that and you will be waiting for the right buyer and hoping people don't know about what else is out there.

It's hard to say but I guess it's base on what type of BR Blaster your talking about. The Hartford model is going for a lot on the online auction(I can't say which one here but you know what I mean) as well as the ones from England and Italywhich are a little more reasonible. what I guess is what you are willing to pay for it.Thanks :cheers :thumbsup

there will always be those who value a good hand made piece over a mass produced one or a kit. :)

i think the Coyle phasers show that even after the MR,s showed up that Coyles { and other quality hand made pieces } will always hold their own. :thumbsup

I think it would be interesting to see in general what the trends are from what people originally purchase a piece for and what they sell for secondarily.

How many pieces inflate in their value? I dont know the answer, I am asking.

When Rich's 'older versions' of the gun show up on ebay, which is pretty rare in itself, I have found them go for between $200 for the earlier ones, and around $400 for the later more accurate ones, and of course up to and over $1,000 for the metal versions. The prices always seem to fluctuate, but it is hard to guage because they almost never show up online as often as other maker's versions do.

Timing can be everything when selling online. Whether or not any other ones are up competing with it, and if people just got their economic stimulus check or not. At least here you can start it for a fixed price before putting up on eBay.
