Hola Friends and Neighbors!

I've allowed myself to be far too distracted by work and life to take care of some builds that I have been looking forward to. I am into my Portal build and wanted to share.

First, a public service announcement, Dear Sweet Bacon Jeebus, wear a respirator when working with resin and eye protection:

It's been a few software updates since my last thread with pictures so I apologize if this doesn't auto-size andcorrect I'll fix it and host elsewhere if necessary.

Great, so that was successful and didn't post a pic the size of Mt. St. Helens.

So.... on to the build. I didn't get an out of the boxes pic before I got started, but here is a really early, clean up shot where I've started to look at seating the electronics:

At this point, I opened the boxes, the gun itself is awesome (Fantastic kit Throwing Chicken) , tested the electronics, they work spectacularly, (Great kit Crix)

So to go back a step or two. after a brief clean up and priming to elucidate areas that might need some touch up, I bored holes for the switches in the "butt plate:

I didn't find quick easy instructions for how to assemble the kits, so I spent some time thinking about how I wanted to put mine together after reading TC's thread on his original build.

The foreclaws were pretty easly to plot out, after a littel thought I decided that i wanted them to be posable, since drilling and pinning was actually going to make the kit more resilient than fixed pose positioning while would make those slender pieces even more brittle I decided to allow them to move post build. Laid our and drilled:

Temporarily one is attached for veiwing pre-finish / paint:

More to come soon....

Some views but not too much interest so I won't bother spamming a ton of updates if little interest.

lighting kit testing:

Working on final paint:

, I ordered this kit before they stared including decals so I might need to do a little work beyond basic paint.

Next update I'll post final assembly, I'll probably add the bar code and Aperture Science logo later.

Looking good so far, I didn't get much feedback on my Portal Gun build either so don't feel bad. I also used the Crix kit in my scratch built ASHPD, top notch work , loved the buttons and everything worked great. Good luck !
