Do any of you know if Polyethylene can be painted? I got a hold of some for free and want to have it turned down to make a set of static wheels for my B9 robot.

Thanks:thumbsup

Krylon Fusion? Really? Can anybody back that up?

Polyethylene is /in/famous about that practically nothing bonds to it. This is why it is being used for garbage cans, kitchen utensils, bottles etc. where you don't want anything to stick.
If you paint it, then the paint will only hold itself together.
It is impossible to glue PE parts with most adhesives. There is a special industrial glue made by 3M for gluing PE, but it is expensive and is available only in large batches.

One thing that you can use, though, is sticky decals. If you torch the surface very lightly with a flame before applying the decal, it will stick better.

I tried the Glossy black, for the inside of my TK bucket, and it didnt stick to that at all. A buddy tried it in his bucket and had the same result........ could be the glossy ABS though. IMO it couldnt hurt to try, if it doesnt work, and doesnt stick, your out only a few bucks.

Fulcrum Thanks for that info! I got this material on the cheap and was hoping I could use it!

anytime. I think the bumper and cladding primer would be the strongest bond.
Also the heat trick does help, but you have to move the flame quickly
