Any suggestions of easy ways to light the Polar lights Enterprise NCC1701-A i set out trying to use individual leds but i found it too cluttered wires all over etc and the dish section is a pain in the bum how do you get the light to reach the windows....
any suggestions welcome also any other tips with this kit greatly appreciated thanks.

LEDs are your best bet since you will never be able to crack it open to fix cold cathodes, unless you are Tim Ketzer :p For us mere mortals LEDs are the way to go.

In the one I am building I used two LEDs per window running in parallel so that if one LED burns out I still have coverage. I would suggest using smaller wire and cutting each wire to distance to cut back on clutter. Here is a pic of my sacer wiring.

[attachmentid=10669]I have to agree....

individual LED's look like a bag of @#$%.e on the inside. but the finished result does look good,

....even on my poor Enterprise.....

most of it is down to my lack of patience with soldering i have just ordered some xmas tree leds i was thinking it saves me the soldering plus i can postion were i need them add finer wire were necessary to more tricky places i ha ve circuit which i got out of a cheap device which allows flashing LEDS with different sequences so the LEDs flash at different times .
Do you guys add the clear windows or leave them blanks?

Your Enterprise looks great how did you get around the Aztec painting Rich?

I am also trying the xmas tree lights method with a Revell Republic Star Destroyer, Ive just drilled out a few windows and will align the lights behind them to give a very basic effect, depending on the results I may try it on one of my Enterprise refits

as requested....a couple of pics of my sad attempt at a big E...
Cold cathodes look great and Tim has truly mastered the art....
i just don't have the experience, so just used readily available strings of led's chopped and changed to fit the model.

For "chopped and changed to fit" that looks amazing. I can only hope to get mine to look that good (when I get to it. :p).
