Please help identify a 1960s pen holder

I’ve been trying image search’s, word searches, all over. I cannot find this red pen holder. It’s around 1968 in the pics.

I’ve been trying image search’s, word searches, all over. I cannot find this red pen holder. It’s around 1968 in the pics.

2 options: prop guy built it for the series (the reddish block + pen holder was original, the aluminum pieces added on each side + black pieces added later to make the prop).
Or, it's an original...might be from the mid to late '50s.
