Plaster molds question

Okay so first off if this is in the wrong section I apologize. Now my question is I find myself wanting to try a few molds. Does it require a special type of plaster. Also what type of metal do you suggest. Thanks for any and all help.

First I will just test it with something small but the metal being something light.

I tend to use fine casting plaster . It's got good hardness, doesn't shrink too much and it's fairly cheap here in the UK.
Depends what your moulding and how many casts you want.

For repeats , I use latex, then use plaster as a support jacket.

We probably need mire details or perhaps a photo, to give more advice

I've also never heard of casting metal into plaster. Normally for casting metal you would use the lost wax process into a sand mould, or for repeat casting you would use metal moulds. There are some silicones with a high enough heat tolerance to cast white metals like pewter.

Why have you chosen these particular moulding/casting materials?
