plasma canon changes in AVP

just watched AVP and noticed from 1:10:38 to 1:16:42 when he gets the only canon of the climber 3 dots on her head from his bio not from the canon as in P2 from the elder, but the scenes after while fighting the aliens the canon keeps changing from having no tri lasers on the side to having them....strange how he does quick change while fending of bugs...mmmmm
