Planning an elaborate 2009 Halloween display?

We're two months and about ten days away from Halloween. The holiday where we can dress up as devils :angry, angels :angel, ninjas :ninja, or whatever was in the theater during the summer. :rolleyes

Ever since I was a kid I've always wanted to put on a big display for Halloween, themed to my favourite movies. Unfortunately I still can't do it as I don't have my own house yet (and currently no job, thanks to you know what), but I was wondering...

Any RPF members planning on having some cool movie or non-movie based displays for Halloween this year? Any members have displays in the past? Let's hear your stories.

I knew a guy who made awesome Halloween displays with animatronic skelly guys. Their movements were syncted(sp?) up with halloween music. They were awesome and his work was so unappreciated for all the effort. He would open his house to the public every halloween for the kiddies. All Disney Haunted Mansion type stuff. Just wonderful to see.

I never have time to decorate at home anymore.. I decided this year to take a few of my own personal Halloween things (Halloween villages) to work and decorate my desk..

I do a back yard haunted house every halloween. Great fun!!! Building gory props gives me a break from the sci fi stuff.

Here is a few pictures from the past years.

That place is awesome! I just checked out the videos on their site. Wow. And I thought the best walk through haunted house that I've been to is the one at Universal Studios.:)

stapleton13, your display is great! The torso hanging from the hooks is gross. :cool

We started doing manequins last year, but we're to far away from the road for anyone to realy enjoy them. :(

Stapleton, I love your set-up! Enspecialy the alien and pirate. I wish I could have a place to do something similar. :(

I keep planning to do one, but I rarely have the time. Since my costume will be done long before then(what I'm wearing to Pittsburgh Comicon) maybe this year. I'll probably go with an EC Comics or B Movie kind of vibe.
However, what would be really cool would be a Thriller display.

I've been trying to think of new things to do...But I just don't feel like decorating very much all the sudden. I could of brought evrything I owned out last week, but today I could care less. :( Just a funny feeling I've been having these few days for some reason. I'll call it my period...

With three younger kids and a dad that still likes seeing the special on every year, here is ours:

We popped in the full size Monsters Inc Sulley on the porch last year as well, that was a much bigger hit than expected.

I've always wanted to, and the past couple years I've had some good plans layed out... just always been too busy to even decorate the house, nevertheless put on a show.

Course now I don't have a place to do it... but when I do... muahahah...

I plan one every friggin year but always have too many projects that need finishing for others to go through with it.

I have done several in the past for businesses and my own work....it is probably my all time favorite thing to do.
