I spent most of yesterday with a fellow who worked on the movie and he gave me one of the helmet casts done from the molds...
I suppose I could ask him about found objects for the film.

OH! that's right. It's the original/ TV series. My son wants to be Gen. Ursus/ Urko for Halloween.

Whoa! this is from the remake right? The pointy one or the nautilus shell-like one? Did he say anything about not molding it?
When you get a chance, ask him if he knows where they got the mesh-like, chainmaily material for the backs of the nautilus helmets. The place I thought would have made it doesn't seem to carry it.

The rifles were made from a found carbine, with fibergless shells overtop. Can't recall the exact make off the top of my head.
Background rifles in part 2 were wood, of course.
The bandos had standard utility clips at the end to hold the clubs. There were leather wallets that went into the bandos also, but on the background suits, it was just a piece of thick leather folder over to give the appearance of a full wallet.
I have castings of the round button things that went on the bandos on the piece of cloth that surrounds and holds the wallets. And I have a casting of General Ursus's pistol that's pretty cool.
