Pink Floyd - One For You Old Farts

Knocked this up at the weekend, painted it today.
for the youngsters that dont know its from pink floyd -the wall movie / music video. i hope to do a couple more items from this film.all these masks look slightly different than each other. i didnt try and go for any specific one, just a generic look.
squeezed the top pic cause it didnt look right on my 42"plasma so here is an unaltered pic below. looks too fat on my screen

I met the little Indian chap that made those masks in Pinewood studios in the 80's - he did all the vac forming on Aliens including powerloader parts...
I tried to blag one that was on his wall but he wouldn't let me have it:cry

its made from car body filler backed with fiberglass,it is hollow at the back. i may get some vac pulls from it if i get round to making a vac machine:unsure

its just gonna be a thread with lyric quotes isnt it:lol

i think i saw the propstore selling one a couple of years ago, dunno if it was the same one. it looked a bit beat up (so probably screen accurate)

construction: i built up a shape using bubble wrap with tape over it, then applied the bondo, then removed the bubble wrap then applied the fiberglass leaving it hollow in the back.its pretty strong and would easily survive a vac pull.

i dont know where to hang it as it creeps me out a little. i dont want to put it somewhere where ill never see it then again i dont want to look at it every minute of the day:unsure

its not getting a warm welcome from folks that see it.

The new pic (on 1st post) looks much better, more round like I remember the faces being.

You'll have to do about 50 pulls, then stick em on one side of your hallway. Keep the lights off and have a strobe light and train whistle activated by a motion detector. If you're going to creep people out, at least go all the way.. *grin*.

I've owned (and sold) a screen-used mask.

My one minor recommendation is to make the eye/mouth holes a bit more "ragged," almost like they've been "burned" into the mask...I'll see if I can dig up a pic of what exactly I mean...
