Pimping Up A Production Prop --- Stargate Universe Door Controller

Hi Folks

Did you ever pimp up a production prop to add an extra wow factor to it ?,

Would love to hear other stories / experiences, and of how much you spent on the pimp

Here is my pimp up, its an SGU door controller

- You need to enter the exact 4 digit code that opens the bridge door on SGU, then once the door open sequence has activated and the light goes from red to yellow, then pressing the central button activates the door opening sequence and the door closing sequence

- Pressing any button at any time out of sequence will reset the "door is now locked" code system

- All the sound (including button press pips) is taken from the episode of season 2 where Dr Perry entered the bridge

- Cost me 800 dollars to enhance her like this for an electronics expert to do all the design and manufacture of the LED circuits, and the custom programming of the various computer chips that she now contains

Very nice modification.

My only story is still a work in progress so there is not much to tell yet. I am adding sound effects to an SG-1 prop. However, my changes will be to a replica and not the original.
