"PIMP My SHUTTLE!"

Gone but not forgotten.
It'll be a few weeks till I can get my new van plated and insured, so in the mean time, I'm geeking out and "Trekking" it up a bit. :D

I'm looking for a side outline that I can fiddle with for a dashboard Okudagram. I've found a place with a downloadable 3D model, but this computer doesn't have anything that can open or manipulate it.

1991 Trans Sport 3D model

Can anyone hook me up? :)

Thanks.

Here you go sarge its just a quicky but if you can give me the demensions of the area on the van dash for the lcars to go I can make it exact. Also I can make the van transparent and put the lcars running through the van as if it was a master situation monitor for the van with some lcars buttons around it.

This is where I'm headed, but I'm going to do the markings more like the TOS movie era. :)

Thanks to CessnaDriver for finding the pic.

Does anyone know where I can find little surface mount lights that will shine up on the sides like on the movie Enterprise? :D

That baby needs some pods on the back. it just begs for the STV treatment. Also, you can get some screen vinyl to "block out" the middle windows and back window. Be sure to go with the big Shuttle ID numbers on the side and back as well.

Vinyl screen... Gary you're a fraggin' GENIUS. I wanted more white on the sides to play with, but I didn't want to lose too much visibility- I forgot all about that stuff.

Yeah, I had big plans for fiberglass engine pods on the back to kind of shroud the tail lights and give me an "impulse engine" look, but that pesky sliding door on the other side won't let me. :( If I white out the back side windows though, I'll still have decent visibility throught the screened middle windows, and still have the whited out back windows for the big numbers. :)

Thanks for that pic BTW. That really helps my visualization. :thumbsup

You could "wrap" the whole vehicle in that vinyl if you wanted to. (well except the windshield and whatever else needs to be legal) My wife showed me the Library van she drives on occasion and I thought it was a different vehicle, hardly a spot of the original paint was visible. I think it cost about $2 or 3K installed

I definely think a matt finish is needed. Particularly for the TOS look. Weren't they a flat grey?

OMG this is to funny, I have a simmilar type van (Oldsmobile silhouette) an i wanted to make it look like a disney monorail, but mine is black and dont really want to spend a lot to have it repainted. But yours Fang looks pretty good so far...

Heh, I'm such a hillbilly the rest of the time, so I'm allowed the occasional nerdy indulgence. :p

Eh, don't worry about the door. Make the pod a part of the door structure so it will slide back with it - or - you could custom fabricate the right pod to wrap around the door when opened :)

If your gonna do it - go all the way :love

Let me play with the concept and see what I can come up with.

If you want I can remove the nav panel (the round section) and inlarge the van, let me know

Looking good S7. Let me look around and see if I can find some existing okudagrams with elements we can borrow from. :)
