Here's what I picked up cheap at local antique market. Can't wait to convert it, and maybe get something ala FX-Sabers for the internals. :cool Just need to get a proper 3 cell bottom for it though! :cry

Nice find! Good to know these can still be found for cheap at antique stores.

You really lucked out, good hunting!

:)

Yap haven't heard of anyone picking up a real graflex from a camera show or market for a long time. Great catch there. Just curious, how much did you pay for it?

$20 CAD. I could have even picked up a box of flash bulbs too, as he mentioned he had a box of bulbs if I wanted as well. :)

I lucked out, that no one else either saw it or knew what it was. Or just really good timing on my part.

I just picked up a 2cell this morning for $30 off craigslist, could of had the camera for another 20!

Good snag! What I don't get, if the 3-cell ones come up on Ebay, they sell now for around $100.00, but there are still sellers listing them at closer to $200.00

I have a 3-cell bottom on its way to me right now, and a New Hope kit to convert it.

I'd kept an eye out for a Graflex flash for over 5 years, didn't want to pay flea-bay prices!
Let me know how the cap looks. I got a price for a 3cell one, but I gotta try to fab one first. If it looks like hell, then, I'll spend the $$$!:cry
Cheers, Jeff

My first Graflex was a 2-cell. :) I found a 3-cell bottom for it later, had quite a collection.. three or four of the things. Down to just the one now, but it's the one I pieced together out of the best parts of the others. :)

I actually wouldn't mind getting some bulbs for it.. at least find out if it works (it should).

Haha! Well, my 2 cell, it came with the reflector and a flash bulb in it. I was offered a box of flash bulbs as well. (I may go back and get them) Popped a couple batteries in and my wife wanted to see it fire off the bulb. It lit the room quite well when it fired off. :)

I owned a 4 cell one before, never got the supplies to convert to a saber, and ended up selling it at a time when they were fetching high dollar amounts. This time around, I plan to do it right and it's a keeper. I'd love to grab a few more too, but anything over $100 on Ebay is just way too much these days.

I'll post pics of it when it arrives. It's a repro 3 cell bottom, but that's fine by me. And didn't cost too much.
