Piano of the Apes!

My first YouTube video! (Couldn't figure out how to embed video).

Background:
I had a bowl of Sugar Frosted Flakes for breakfast at 6:30 AM, makeup started promptly at 7 AM. As far as nutrition for the day, I had a protein shake at 3PM. This videotaping started at 10 PM, and I was still looking ahead at 2 hours of makeup removal. I was literally burning the midnight oil and I can't read music (I use the kid's piano teacher's notations, where each musical note has a number that corresponds with which finger is used). Anyway, I hope you enjoy. It was a tough day but worth the effort.

I always wondered what it would like to see an ape play the piano. :p

Very cool outfit, and very nice music! Would be awesome to see you and few others in a video together playing in a band. :)

Cool.

I liked that 'pumping gas' picture so much from earlier I'm thinking your second YouTube video should be public reaction shots to Zira doing something mundane, shopping, walking the dog....

OMG! What a fabulous idea! The next time I go under the goo, I'm going to borrow the neighbor's rabbit and walk her down the street. I hope our neighbors don't freak out. I don't think they've ever seen me made up properly. I saw her walking her rabbit on a leash today... I think an ape walking a rabbit on a leash would be freakingly funny and surreal. :thumbsup

Other ape videos I plan someday would be like a cooking show type thing...where I prepare something out of the norm...like cooking cassava or taro. But the hard part is I have to find someone willing to videotape me doing that...hmm....husband? nah, too busy. Dylan? Not sure...I'll have to think about it some more. I need someone with a steady hand.

Love your makeup/costume! What I like is that we can see your concentration even through the appliances. Something about seeing an Ape doing everyday things feels like it comes right out of the movie.

Well, Jessica, if I lived in Ape City I'd totally spend an afternoon filming you. Your costume/make-up is ape-tastic, and it'd be a real kick to see how people responded to you in public. As long as you're taking requests, the mundane task I'd love to see on video is of you at the grocery store, picking up pieces of fruit, feeling them, sniffing them, putting them in your hand basket, fumbling with coupons, texting on your cell...all the ordinary stuff we do as humans. And if possible, opening up a bag of cookies and munching on a few whilst shopping. (Not sure if the prosthetic allows you to put food into your mouth.) If I'm not mistaken, you did share a still pic with us once of you picking out fruit at a market, and I loved it! Gotta get it on video. :thumbsup

I gotta say, that I've never seen such a great and truly "movie" like representation of a POTA costume before! You look like you stepped right out of the film! Very well done!!

Wook, it's the surprisingly mundane tasks that make this costume fun and surreal. I forgot to take a photo of me on the cell phone. That was on the back of my mind...but the day just blew by me. If you missed it, here's a photo of me watering my garden from August 15.

I really wanted my girlfriend to photograph me at Trader Joe's trying to figure out which type of grape juice plus to get, but she said no. Plus I didn't trust her photo taking abilities. We were in and out of that store just to get my liquid nutrition so I could survive the day. Once I black out my teeth, there's no way I'm eating anything. I was already attracting a lot of unwanted attention. She didn't think that I would actually step into the store dressed to the nines. I mean, apes have to buy stuff, don't they?

Jessica, I had seen it, but thanks for re-posting it. Love it! I wish I could look out into my neighbors' backyard and see an ape gardening. :lol
