All I can say is that these hilts are the most accurate ones you'll ever find. I really enjoyed assembling and painting the first ones
and I really look forward to finish a lot more

Looks awesome Dino! Can't wait until you get through them all! Really stunning finish.
Only comment would be to throw a bit more weathering on there in terms of scuffs and scratches and perhaps a little more fade between the colours on the quillions. So excited for this though!

Quite a few peopple asking about the status.
The machinist has promised to ship early last week, but then towards the end of the week came back that some of the parts aren't polished enough and need some additional finishing. So told me he would ship this week. I told him to not wait for all of them to be done and to ship as many as he can as soon as he can and send a couple shipments so these can start moving.
He has said he will ship me most of the sets in the next days. With the rest following a little bit after.
We're at the mercy of the machinist right now. It will come, just needs a little nudging to get them moving. Rest assured, I'm on it.

I don't call myself the master of painters ;-)In terms of adding a bit more fade between the colours I agree with you.
Regarding the weathering I disagree though. :-D I studied a lot of references and it is not that ****ed up as many think. Mostly I used the reference from Topps.
But in the end I send tons of pictures to every client and ask if they are happy with it. If they say that they want a bit more weathering, no problem! This way, I make this unique saber even more unique for everyone. Someone even wants a completly unweathered hilt, without heat gradient and such.
I am just happy that SO much put a lot faith in Derrek and my work and I want to do it right :-D

Ok, so I got the first shipment. I've got enough parts to make 75 of the sabers complete.
There were some concerns with the alignment of parts that were going to delay some orders shipping. Everyone on the run got the message regarding this.
Though I went to a machinist locally today to talk about options and we have come through with a solution that will get everyone their sabers much faster than originally expected. So stay tuned.
Next shipments this weekend, and a lot more than expected!

The quillion/core alignment issues were really bugging me so I sent the update out regarding this in the interest of transparency to everyone on the run.
A few days later I was sitting with a local machinist and discussing the options. We were able to organize a solution.
Now the cores are fully aligned, and the quillion as well. The quillion still are able to be screwed apart to allow for easy electronics installation.
So the delay I originally spoke about is no long applicable. The only delay is how much time I have to box everything up.
I have enough parts right now to get out half of the list of sabers and I am still waiting on a second shipment from the machinist so I can fulfill the second half.
Thanks! I tried to get lis name mentioned but had completely forgotten he wasn't Artisan FX here, but rather general frosty.Thanks @dday for the update!
