Phillies phanatic costume

I'm working on a Phillies phanatic costume and looking for suggestions on building the head with working tongue.

I purchased a build a bear phanatic and unstitched it. Scanned the peices then blew them up and printed them out.
I used this as a template to cut material which I quickly hot glued to try and see if it fits. Since I didn't want to waste time sewing it. This is just a mock up for the body to see how it fits and looks. It needs a little tweaking but I think I got it. The big issue is doing the head. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

I always thought the tongue was like one of those party toy blower things. The kind that roll up and you blow through a kazoo. I could be wrong, it's been a few months since I was at a Phillies game.
I'll be following this thread, I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

That was my original idea but you know like I do that they only last a very short time. You can only use them about ten times and they are ready for the trash can. I am thinking of maybe trying to duplicate one of those or maybe something spring loaded or even using a small actuator. . I'm kind of up in the air as to which would work best and be the easiest to do.
