Made a shadow box, used contact paper, used black poster board cut it out around this acrylic plate. The plate sits on a clear glass which I will be putting a custom light underneath to make it glow!!!

Re: Pepsi Perfect - big acrylic plate for displaying your bottles - BTTF

I like your shadow box. very nice. I was thinking about doing something similar but I have been trying to find a way to get the accurate pattern or a better image to print it from. The table top in the movie had more of a squiggly line kinda thing going on it. the one you have is more speckle-dot ish. Does anyone know how or where to get a better image of the pattern used in the movie? I have a few screen caps but they are very small and low res. I cant find a good enough image to photoshop and look right.
Again very nice job heartlikewar.

Re: Pepsi Perfect - big acrylic plate for displaying your bottles - BTTF

I made the pattern in photoshop taking screen captures, modifying the perspective so the pattern is correct, and then doing all the little black "lines" by hand over the screen capture image that was on a layer below my pattern.
I don't know how to work with vectors, so my pattern is a PSD image at 300ppp if I remember correctly.
I'll search for it and upload it if you want to have it. ;-)

EDIT: Sorry, this is a thread for Roland's Actrylic Display purchase. I'll move the message that was here before (about the pattern and the file uploaded) to the Back to the future 2 "free paper props" thread. (because the pattern is a paper after all... or a sticker :p
Once again, sorry, Roland, for offtopic-ing your thread.

How thick are these plates? Is this something you could stand on its side?

It's just 2.5 millimeters thick (0.1 inch), so it doesn't stand alone on its side (if you don't lean it against the wall). It's intended to lie on its flat side.

But it's rigid enough that it could as long as something held it up, right? I ask because my bookcase (which is fast becoming the BTTF museum), isn't wide enough to lay it flat. I thought it Could work standing upright, and I can always get some sort of acrylic stand to prop it up. My idea was to have my PP bottles in front of it, with the big Pepsi logo behind them.

Absolutely! It's solid acrylic. You can hold the edge with two fingers and it doesn't bend.

I received my acrylic display and wonka bar Roland, they are FANTASTIC. I can't wait to make a countertop with light to display my pepsi on. Many thanks :)
