Pedistals

Anyone know where to get some cheap pedistals from, nothing fancy, just a plain black rectangle to stand upright? I can't find anything cheap anywhere and I dont have the time to make one right now

I've been looking, too. But not much luck. Think I'll just get some MDF and some paint and make my own. Probably the cheapest way to go.

In my area we have a couple of places that sell used store fixtures. You may want to check your local yellow pages to see if you have anything similar.

I'm also on the lookout for any store going out of business. Often times they will sell everyything including display items. When the Warner Brothers stores closed down in my area I picked up a number of small rectangular black bases and several nice wooden bases. A clothing store went out of business in a local mall and I purchased two of their manequins.

Get some of the square pvc fence posts and attach mdf top and bottom then paint.

Heres a couple more thoughts...

I have also seen pedistals at furniture stores around here. I believe one place was called the Room Store. Although I kinda remember them being a little pricey.

Michaels carries plaster column style pedistals. No rectangular ones though.

I used a speaker stand for a statue in the past. It worked pretty well.
