Great minds. We were posting this at the same time in different sections of the forum.:lol
Right.. just noticed your post on the other thread. Thought this deserved its own thread :).

Edited my original post and included links to the patent files.

I think the important questions are: 1) will they be less than $1000 this time? and 2) will we be able to buy them without Kobe Bryant's signature mucking them up?

Very cool if they do end up making these, especially functional like that. I'll buy a pair.

It hurt passing up on markpoons run. Hesitation becomes holding out for THE one. Here's hoping its complete with sound effects. Vooop Veeep.

I guess we can assume that is a charging station that resembles the future duffel bag. Probably will cost a fortune.

Hey, 2015 is just around the corner now.

EDIT:
Love how you can patent something while representing a mechanical solution as a box stating what it will do.

So I am assuming that you can't really walk in these. I mean that "drive shaft" would have to be rigid and it runs the length of the sole. Hmmm....

I don't see this happening.

I have a few pairs of boots with a stake running through the sole. Maybe they wouldn't be as comfortable as athletic shoes are supposed to be, but they'd still be wearable.

I really don't think any complex mechanisms will work in a shoe like this - I hate to pee on this parade as I'm one of the guys who've obsessed over these shoes (and own the Markpoon replicas) I would LOVE to have Nike to them.
Honestly, I would want them to just do accurate replicas at a decent price - the self-lacing thing may not work with the design and I would not want them to alter the design to accomidate the electronics.
