Pastels on latex masks...

Hopefully this question is in the right place... Has anyone used soft pastels on a latex mask over the latex base coat? I know there's fixatives that you can apply over pastels, but I'm not sure what would work on a flexible mask to seal the paint and pastels so the pastels wont smudge. Any help is much appreciated!

We're talking oil pastels, right? I would advise against that because oil will eventually break down latex.

Nope, just regular chalk pastels.
