Parts identification, Please help! Borg Queen skull

Hi, everyone!

I posted this a while back, I thought I would try again and see if anyone has any idea what these parts are. I aquired a copy of the Borg Queen Skull and Spine a couple of years ago, and I'm trying to figure out what toys, or models were kitbashed for the details. I know the things on the sides of each vertebra are quick connect couplings, but I'm not sure what model. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Some of those look like gundam style kit parts.

That's what I was thinking, but unfortunately I know nothing about Gundam kits. Any idea which ones?

Come on, guys! Any ideas at all? :confused Please? :cryI'm having to try to guess what the parts are on the inside of the skull are too, which is even harder, because I can't find any good pics other than screen grabs:

I'm thinking if someone can identify even one of the parts, maybe more were from the same toy or model. A friend mentioned some of the neck parts might have some from a G.I. Joe vehicle. As Sidewinder suggested, some might be Gundam parts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

They look a bit like Zoids parts. I only ever built one but it used "complex" parts like the ones you highlighted.

You're right, Jack! They are Zoid parts! My friend who thought they were G.I. Joe parts wasn't too far off, Zoids were reissued by Hasbro too! I remember about ten years ago seeing them clearanced at Toys R Us. I found out they're going for a premium now on ebay. I'm going to start checking out thrift stores and flea markets and see if I can find any.
