parks saber

Yea everyone has their take on Parks and their umm business practices might be a good way of putting it.

Yep, screwed a member big time here to make sales. Worse, used his religous beliefs to justify his mentality on why he could screw said member giving Parks Sabers and religion a bad name all at the same time. Quiet shameful on Jeff's part. So, on sounder principles here, many have chose to boycott Parks until he settles up on such.

I thought of doing a Luke ESB because of the pre-drilled roles, but now knowing this, I won't support them.

Master Replicas.

If light tech is still in business, you could try them. I never liked their designs as much as Parks, or their prices, but they are very well made Sabers.

It's either light-tech.com or lighttech.com or something like that.

Lighttech's 'sabers, while not necessarily as aesthetically pleasing as the Parks designs, are built like tanks. Many people have reported that Parks' quality has gone down in recent years (I myself recall seeing an EL Mara Jade with deep gashes from an ill-fitted lathe brackets). I think the biggest problem with the Lighttech 'sabers is that they're too long (like 1.5 - 2 inches). If you can live with that, and their somewhat unorthodox design, that's the way to go, if you absolutely HAVE to have an EL 'saber.

Who makes sabers like the Parks sabers?
[/b]

NOBODY makes sabers like Jeff Parks. ;)
I have never had a problem dealing with Jeff. I called him, talked to him, and told him exactly what I wanted. If he didnt have what I wanted, he recieved none of my money. All to thier own on what kind of sabers you want to buy. Frankly I think there is a lot of overreacting and band-wagoning when it comes to this topic, but I buy from whom ever has what I want and if its a good deal. MR isnt too bad, but I would chose a Parks over a MR anyday. But thats just me.

Thanks guys. I like the Parks Sabers the best. MR sabers are junk to me and Lighttech sabers sell 2 or 3 sabers when Parks sell 15-20 sabers..... :unsure

i will add this to the conversation tho, nothing wrong with a MR saber.

ONLY, and i mean ONLY, after you do a luxeon convertion on it to turn a saber you cant duel with into a removeable blade fully duelable knock yer freakin head off saber.

i have done 2 so far, a esb vader to a red lux convert, and a mace windu to a royal blue lux convert.

if you want to know more on luxeon converts, pm me, and i can give you the addy to a place to find out more info.

i have a lighttech el internals in a real graflex, i never got a saber made by him. but i never had any problems with customer support or emails to and from him. hes a nice guy to deal with at least.

The MR sabers are WAY oversized. The Windu is horrible.

The MR FX Vader is just about dead on, and the Ep3 Anakin is very good too...it's the size of a Graflex. I am pretty sure the new Ep4 Graflex just out is pretty dead on too.

The Luke, Obiwan and Mace are funny though.
I haven't seen a Maul in person.

Oh, I also put a Lighttech rig inside of a Graflex...
and Yes...
Mike is great to deal with.

As for Parks...

His sabers are fine...but it's Jeff himself that blew it with so many of us...
I was one that was trying to defend him at one point...thinking that he would come around and make good on his word.

But came to realize that he DID in fact RIP MY BROTHER OFF...

yeah, the obi saber by MR is a bit off in size, i agree there. the vader esb saber is real close in size. the graflex ones are close too. from what i read over on TCSS the maul is pretty darn close as well. if its off, its not by much. and there are lux convert kits coming for the obi, and the maul sabers, to turn a show sabers, as they are stock, into the duelable sabers with removeable blades.

the obi's biggest point is in the neck. theres just no way you can have it the actual size and duel hard with it without it bustin on ya.

and if your goin with a lux, and a 1 inch blade, it has to be large enough to fit the blade and metal blade holder that it needs.

im not sayin anything bad bout Jeff, cuz i never dealt with him or bought a saber from him, im just sayin on the behalf of MR fx sabers, theres nothin wrong with them and they make great sabers once the lux convert is done to them.

the convert, retainsmost all the origianl functions after the convert.

all sounds are the same, only thing you lose a bit on is the grow retract effect. the MR board ramps up and down the power to 1 single led lux, mounted in the hilt. theres no electrics in the blade at all, just a diffuser with a reflective piece under the tip.

you still get a slight grow retract effect even with the single led lux, just not as nice as a string of 64 leds do in the stock blade. but for a fully duelable saber, well, for me, its not that big a deal, and a dealer at the con last year i went to seen my converted extra vader saber, and went jaw to the floor, when i said can yours do this, and puled out the blade, and hung the hilt on my belt.

and brightness compared to a stock MR fx, well, the luxs make them look like dim lil lights. the luxs are way far brighter. and after the guy picked up his jaw off the floor, he said how much, and i sold that saber to him for 200 bucks.

trick is to find one with say, a dead spot in the blade but everything else works fine. grab it cheap, that paticualr saber i paid 50 bucks for off ebay. spent 50 on the convert parts, sold for 200 and made a 100 in profit.

so anyways, the MR's arent bad sabers at all after the converts are done to them.
