Paper towel holder helmet stands

I remember a long time ago there was a thread showing off using paper towel holders for helmet stands.
I thought they were bought at Target or Walmart for like $10 a pop.
Either aluminum or stainless finish, simple flat disk shaped base.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I use them, mine are chrome. I doubt it will help you, but I got mine at a store called Canadian Tire (I'm in Canada of course. :))

Looking for the ones that are either aluminum, stainless, or chrome but the ones I remember had both the base and the stem being the same color.
I know tons of people here have them as I've seen pics.
If you have them, can you post pics?

Bed Bath & Beyond usually has some nice, tall ones that are metal.

In the UK I got mine from Big W. £2.99 or £3.99 each. Chrome base and stalk.

Pics?
I'm looking for the kind with the flat disk base, nothing fancy schmancy.
Base and stalk the same finish.

Walmart has the ones i use.
They're $10 and they are chrome base with a black center rod.

I have the WalMart chrome/black model, was $7 or so. Can't be beat.

Those are the ones I use.

well ill be never ever thought that a paper towel holder could double as a helmet stand, i used to have one of them aswell, ill have to look around see if i can get one in the uk

I use them for all my helmets. I bought very tall ones so i could mount the IRG helmet and Tie helmets on them and cut the others shorter for all my other helmets.

Keith.

I pick them up from stores like Home Goods, Marshalls or TJ Maxx for like $10-15.
Usually Umbra brand ones have the nicest designs.
Bed Bath and Beyond carries them too, but they run around $20 there.

Which store has the design that I described above?
Flat disk shaped base with no detail, with the stalk color matching the base.
I don't want to go wandering around a bunch of stores for nothing during xmas time shopping. ;)

Typical Umbra teardrop model looks like this:

or chrome version:

There is a small Umbra logo on the top of the base.
Also most of those stores I listed are unpredictable -they sell closeouts etc. which is why they get them so cheap. BB and B will probably have the most variety in stock.

Ha. I thought I was so original for using a paper towel holder as my Batman Begins cowl stand. I used one from Lowe's hardware, mounted to another wooden base to push it out from the wall a bit more.

I removed the knob from the open end, and epoxied the business end of a large black soup dipper onto the end, to support the urethane 'skull cap' of the cowl. Then I plasti-dipped the joint of the holder and the dipper.

A small black felt bag over the dipper cup and it's done.

I stopped by Homegoods tonight and they had 6 chrome paper towel holders made by Royal Oak- pretty nice, similar to Umbra but no embossed logo.
