Pan (Post-release)

Seen this today, pretty good film! Action and comedy is well balanced, some of the CGI is iffy in some scenes, but not super cheesy and not entirely noticeable in other scenes. Let me just say: Hugh Jackman needs to play more villainous roles! I thought he would be a good villain, and he does it quite well IMO! I may be a bit biased though, Hugh is awesome LOL.

The story is pretty good, and interesting take on an origins for Peter Pan and others. Since it is an introduction for these characters, we don't immediately see who we are all familiar with from the Peter Pan stories we all know, and if we do see them, its in their early stages of their lives. Many things are hinted at for the future though, I do hope to see more from these characters, and I was left wanting more just as it ended. All around good stuff! Would see again :thumbsup

Saw it this weekend with the family. Wife and kids enjoyed it. I never got on board. "Smells like Teen Spirit" and "blitzkrieg Bop" really threw me off.

The "prophecy" stuff put a ding in it for me, and the way they decided to portray the flight looked really clumsy. It should look nimble and really it ends up looking like a struggle. They had me for probably 85% of the movie, but the ending really fell apart for me, and Peter never even attempts to wield a blade so that was weird for me. Rooney Mara was awesome IMO and gave me my fill of kid vs pirate in the rigging fights

Okay, something is sorta bugging me...
Peter's mom is named Mary Darling... which is supposed to be the name of Wendy's mom..
WTF?
