painting vinyl help

I'm going as Claire Redfield for Halloween this year, and I'm getting her Code Veronica vest made out of vinyl. What paints work best on vinyl annnd where can I get them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rust-o-leum makes a line of fabric and vinyl spray paints (used for repainting auto seat covers). Considering it's intended use, it's probably pretty tough and flexible.

I know Amazon carries it, but check local auto parts stores.
