Painting on rubber?

I need to paint a white wall on 1/43 scale rubber tires. The two different sets of white wall tires I have found do not fit the car I am working on so I figures I need to paint, or replicate another way. Any advice?

Pretty sure any acrylic paint would work fine. Enamels wont dry properly and will remain tacky. Not sure about lacquers.

I guess I was always under the impression that all paint, when applied to a soft rubber surface will flake off. I shall try the acrylics.

I would try using Pros-Aid which is a sticky liquid adhesive and mixing that with the acrylic paint.

I'd try the Duplicolor interior paint for vinyl and plastic, it's made for flexible surfaces.

I've heard of urethane paints doing well on rubber, but they're kinda nasty stuff from what I hear and you need proper equipment and ventilation for it.

You can get permanent white tire markers, used for colouring in the raised letters on the sidewall. They may work for your purpose.

You can mist a tiny amount of acetone through an airbrush which helps key up rubber surfaces for better paint adhesion.
