paint up of one of my iron man helmet castings

I've decided to do a quick paint up on one of my castings. so here we go. first up the raw casting was lightly filled sanded then primed. i waited for a day before applying the base coat silver then i waited for that to cure. i then applied light coats of the red and gold. then weathered the helmet with acrylic paints. im really happy on how it turned out. i will start on an MK2 soon.


this is a raw pull behind it is the master.

painted and weathered. i will add the led lights tonight.

This is good! The weathering is really awesome! The gold looks like real metal! How did you achieve that? :eek WOW!

i used metallic black acrylic wash in a spray bottle then applied very light brush strokes using a 1 inch paint brush.
