Paint Question...

Here's a quick question for you master painters out there. I bought some Krylon Primer today, and I've been looking for a spray paint this color(dark grey) but have had zero luck. My question is, will the primer work as a paint, or rub off super easy?
:confused

im no expert here, but ive used primer quite a few times as the finish coat on stuff without any problems, though it was car primer and not Krylon, but i cant really see any reason why not.

Primer works just as well as regular paint but sometimes it will pick up the oil from your fingers and leave little dark spots over your product. It wouldn't hurt to protect it with some Krylon crystal clear. They make it in satin (dull) or gloss. Either would work depending on how you want your final product to look.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks! I'll probably get the satin as I want to keep the paint looking flat.

What's the base material you're painting? Is it resin, metal, or something else?

For resin, krylon and duplicolor work fine. For metal, try and find self etching primer as it gets a better bite into metal. For wood, sand, seal and then prime with krylon.

I really don't like using krylon primer especialy when Im painting skintones. Duplicolor is the best primer I have used, It goes on so smooth especialy on resin. I have had problems with Krylon drying tacky. Just my 2cents.

Yeah, I'm painting resin, and for the parts I actually needed the primer for it seemed to work really well.
