I was asked if I would post some progress pictures of the spear for my resin sculpt, so I thought it might fit better in the arsenal section.

Very nice work man! Really like how it turned out and love the items you used (always good to get new ideas) Thanks for posting it.

Been at the local garden centre a bit too much recently, but picked up a few odds and ends I thought could be useful in my Pred build. Poles were perfect for the spear and I got some of that bendy plastic coated wire to use for his neckring. Saving that for my Pred when I make his armour. Amazing the things you can use with a bit of lateral thinking.

Thanks for comments.

Seems like my spear appeals to the celtic clans of Scotland and Ireland. Must be our warrior blood and lust for weapons of a stabbing nature.

Good stuff dude...probably cost you almost nothing, and from a few feet away looks pretty much the same as a cast one!

Double thumbs up for ingenuity!

That was the intention, look sort of similar but not an exact copy. I could have gone more accurate but I think it would have been less fun to make. Garden poles were the dearest items and I used the minimum number to get the desired effect. Cheers.

Crawjaw,

You got that right! Excellent work on the spear! Schiltron formation!

Hmmm, wonder if your Predator has a claymore (not LED ;) ) in his arsenal ... backstory would be interesting on that one.....

.... a mist covered battlefield.....
a small band of clansmen are being pursued by the English.....
they run into a wooded area.....
the English are in hot pursuit, cutting down even unarmed camp support folk
..... this is noticed by a lone observer from his vantage point in an oak tree.....
"those warriors have broken the Code... they will pay.... "
He lifts a formidable weapon that he has retrieved from the battlefield
"Now the hunters become the hunted...."

Very imaginative but scared to agree with you in case I offend any of our English hunters.
Sod it, sounds a great premise, like a re-run of Braveheart.
By any chance is there some celtic blood in your veins?

Crawjaw,

No offence intended, that particular group in my story broke the Code, and would be considered Bad Bloods..... fair game to anyone, Scots or 'Yautja'

Braveheart.... now that music is in my head ;)

Re: celtic blood.... I'm half Scottish on my mom's side :D

(other half is Croatian)

One of my mates got a Croation dad and Scottish mother too. Unfortunately he emigrated to new Zealand a couple of years ago. Their surname is Avdic.
