P1 Cannon Attempt *updated W/pics*

I'm trying to replicate Darth Veach's P1 cannon concept as close as I can. I have a difficult time getting some supplies easily out here but on a recent trip back to the states I found some foam inserts for flower vases. The rough shape was close enough so i picked up a few more things and have kicked off my attempt.

Stage 2: Foamie goodness

Stage 3: More foamies, added a little detail. I really liked Darth Veach's approach though, he used different color foam so you could see the different things he did or added for detail.

Stage 4: Primed waiting for final painting and detail

what did you use for the cylindrical thing on the back? I've been thinking about using one of those fat foster's beer cans.
