So I found an old Rubies Supreme Vader helmet on Ebay for £30 so I thought I'd attempt the Obi Wan battle damaged helmet. First day, but got a bit done.

Will update as it goes along. Put some rough ideas in for burnt edges etc but it's.not meant to stay.

Thanks bud.

I've watched that several times. It's a great video. I just think this lifesize bust is the pinnacle of any Star Wars collection. It takes us all the way back to ANH release when Ben said about how Vader kills Luke's father.

I'm just hoping someone soon releases this bust. I've seen another marke make one which isn't official buy still looks amazing.

Got a bit more done this week. Didn't like the flat look of the dome so I repainted it whilst adding some nicks and scrapes as it would have been if any of those rocks etc hit him. Managed to make a lens up and painted the helmet colors. Had a go at changing the ridge on the dome aswell, it's bloody awful on the rubies.

Done a bit more this week. I wasnt happy with the width of the damage so opened it up a bit more. Tried to replicate some of the damage, it's not 100% accurate in anyway but I'm trying to do the best I can on a budget. Added some tusks from Russ, and spent more time on the damage.

The metal parts that are showing are guitar parts. A stretched tremolo spring and an old tremolo bar with the spring pulled over it. Sometimes electric guitars offer some nice parts for prop builds.

So I bought a 3d print file of Anakin from a guy on Etsy. It looked oversize and I took a gamble and shaved a bit off and paid a guy to 3d print it here in the UK. After a week or 2 of questioning my measurements ot arrived today and I'm stunned!! I got it bang on I would say! Needs to be re-positioned a little but I'm happy to start painting him up.

The guy who printed him usually prints tiny tool holders etc and this was the biggest thing he had ever done! He had to take some pics as he was amazed too!

So ive managed to get the head painted up. Please note im still lesrning so its not perfect
Got him on the mannequin and just a rough mock up for now. I need to make the rear neck piece so the rest of the helmet has something to connect to. Up until this point its cost me around £275 all in

Any feedback is appreciated!

If this is what you call, "I'm still learning, it's not perfect." I can't imagine what perfect would look like because this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just outstanding   (y)

I hope my helmet comes out as good, but I doubt it. I won't even try the head. My faces come out like Ken dolls.

That looks really awesome, you did a great job. I’ve got two of those Rubies helmets from 2005 I was thinking about selling here in the JY but maybe I’ll only sell one and keep the other one for trying my hand at a reveal like this.
