Out Back from G.I. Joe (W*I*P)small update post#16

OK we all saw G.I. Joe the Rise of Cobra. Gotta admit I was a bit disappointed in it because it only had a very small handful of characters from the comics. So I decided that I would do the costume of one of my favorite Joe's ..... OUT BACK! It should be a fairly simple costume to do, BDU pants, Tank Top, gun belt with modified buckle.
Being a red head it was nice to see a hero who also had red hair as a kid...:lol
I am basing the costume on one of the later action figures (see pics) I will also be making dog tags with his info to go along with the costume:lol
I will post progress pics as I go along.

Here are some prelim shots.. On the BDU's I need to modify the belt loops to make them bigger and wide enough to accommodate the pistol belt. On the tank top I have to add the text and then sew the head band.. so what do you all think so far? I know this is a simple costume but one I have wanted to do for a while now. Plus I also need to hit the gym... :lol

Thanks, I have been trying to find the right knife today but I can't seem to find one...all well I guess I'll just have to make one..lol

Wow, looks good. You have the face and the hair to bring it alive. Have you looked at limegreen tigerstripe camo vs woodlawn? That would make it so perfect.

Nice work so far, even though I'm not familiar with that version of Outback. Looks much cooler than the original white shirted one.

I have and I may in the future...Right now I am using my old issue uniform bottoms :lol

I got a Joe costume that I'm in the planning stages for. I don't want to go into who it is just yet, I want it to be a surprise!

Just a quick update:
Still working on the costume I am trying to find some tiger stripe BDU pants that were issued during Nam. I have also decided not to use a tank top,going with a modified muscle shirt. As a special treat here is a pic of Out Back (aka Me) as a buck private! The man in front of me is Command Sargent Major of the Army Richard Kidd the highest ranking NCO in the Army.
And be nice...I was the F.N.G. when this pic was shot...lol

You can also occasionally find some gold variant tigerstripe on Ebay once in a while, I got my set from Asia and it's great!
