Thanks, everyone. Yes, those are the pictures that I've been working from. it's nice to see them on the computer though, as the ones I"ve printed out aren't as clear. There are already some issues I know that i can see that need some attention.

I think it looks great! The classic reference certainly helps.
In comparing the two, I'd suggest that the head should be a bit taller and I'd reduce the size of the brow and cheekbone forms in order to let the hair fill in the shape that you need there.
In the end, you've made some great progress on it and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out! You'll find that the crowds go NUTS for a great looking Chewie!

Ok, I worked on the nose and think it's closer now. There are some other issues I'm seeing, but that would require almost a complete makeover that I'm not looking to do, so I think I'm going to call it finished, cast it (hopefully) this weekend and then I get hair on it, which could be quite awhile. After I see how that turns out, I might go back and rework the entire face. Obviously since I didn't have a PM face cast to go off, this Chewy will be smaller than the real deal, but then again, it would never be 100%, but I will be happy with it. Thanks for all the compliments and suggestions. They were and are much appreciated.

Art is never finished, only abandoned.
The descision to redo the nose and so on is surely the right one, you need to be happy with what you create, but at the end of the day I truly believe that there has to be a cut-off point before a person goes insane with detail on a project.
I'm the same with the AWIL wolf head I'm currently sculpting, reworked so many areas so many times...it will never BE the screen used piece, but I'm compromising my expectations into a philosophy that it is my TAKE on the screen used piece.
Your sculpt looks great anyway mate, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing the results - I'm sure they will be ace!

I think the nose just needs detailing. The ridge on the upper lip seems to be too much and I think the chin needs to be thinned. Other than that I think it looks just fine. Perhaps you've reworked it too many times to be able to be satisfied? heh.

To me just things I see, compared to the original latex Chewy piece on page 1...
1) the chin seems to be a little large, not quite Jay Leno large, but the original seems to have more of a slope to it and no peak, where yours has a LITTLE more length to it, giving it a peak. It also seems the space from the upper lip and the nose are little gapped compared to the original.
2) add a little more bulb to the tip of the nose, it seems really flat compared to the original, and once you split it like you had, I think that will bring alot more out too.
Everything else is spot on. Its a magnificent sculpt and I think that with those adjustments you'll really nail it 100%.
